I recently bought this telescope and its really good for the price. It's cheap and great for anyone who's new in astronomy or looking for something that's not too expensive. This telescope is very good for kids, it's simple and effective for learning basic stuff about stars. Quality wise, it's quite good considering how much it costs, the images are clear enough for someone just starting. I find it to be reliable and easy to use, not missing out on important features. I bought this because I have a major interest in exploring the galaxies, solar systems and stars as well. I focused it a few times on some pretty short-range objects like, light poles, trees, etc, I was just basically using my Samsung Galaxy to take shots of the moon and I could see the craters and other parts in even good detail as well. It's 3 in the morning right now and I used the finder and marked the red dot over the moon, put in the 25mm, and saw a large floating round white blur, so I tried the barlow with it also and all that did was increase the blur with no detail. So I tried the ten and that didn't help either. I tried the ten with the barlow and still no fine detail even with focusing. Majorly disappointed guys............ ... show more

If you do get a view of the moon it looks great! My major complaint is the Y-Axies adjustment knob. It's either way too tight (hard to move up and down to get centered. If it wasn't for that then I'd have more time to make slight adjustments without overshoot target. I'd rather spend it on a $50 scope for the equivalent. ... show more

I was trying to find an affordable priced telescope to start off with because I've never used one before. I picked this one and I am very satisfied with my choice. It came with a ton of accessories to use with it and it even connect to an app on my phone. The app allows me to find things in the sky and to do all other kinds of things as well. I never would have expected these capabilities out of a telescope for this price. I have been using it to look at some of the planets and it has an excellent view. My brother and I had never used a telescope before so we were nervous about whether or not we'd be able to figure out how to work one. Thankfully the instructions help but you really shouldn't need them because it is actually pretty easy to learn on your own.
