    • The replacement scope works great.
I bought this scope for my wife who's a birdwatcher. It has one major flaw. It will focus fine in the lower part of the zoom range, but the images are increasingly blurry as you increase the magnification. I had selected this scope based on the good reviews. Rather than experiment with other low cost spotting scopes I ordered a more expensive alternative. The difference was like night and day. The images are sharply focused over the entire zoom range, it weighs less, and is easier to use. I returned this one and would not recommend it for anyone. Update 14 Jan 2021 - After returning the scope, I was contacted by the company who sells it because of my bad review. After several emails back and forth, I agreed that I would try it again. They sent me a new scope and I had no difficulty focusing over the entire zoom range. I have changed my review to five stars because I can't really find any fault with this scope. It works was well as the scope I bought for twice as much. This scope is heavier, but even that has it's advantages. The heavier scope is not as unbalanced when you attach a cell phone to take pictures. This scope comes with the adapter for the cell phone, whereas the more expensive scope did not. I also find the tripod to be quite stable. In summary, I have no complaints. This is a very good package for a very good price. I highly recommend this scope. Okay, so first time buying a scope for someone who has never really star gazed before... but this was the perfect buy! It went together so easily, even my Dad could figure it out without fully reading instructions! It's very sturdy, though it fits tilt if you have a heavier phone attached. The focus was really easy to understand once you get a target and it's great st looking at the moon!! Or any closer to earth objects; satellites, meteor showers, auroras, noctelucent clouds. It's been a fun adventure for my Dad as he's retired now and looking for things to fill up his time ♡ this also is an affordable option for beginners! The media could not be loaded. It comes with clear user manual and tutorial videos, pretty easy to install it and get it work. The optical quality is nice along with a handy phone adapter. The 70mm aperture is big enough for moon watch as been advertised and can handle scenic watching outdoor as well. My family love its low profile design, had fun with kids after we set it up together, good gift. First Update: My kids love it and we took sometime to figure out how to get the best photos, would love to share some good tricks: 1. Keep the tripod at a lower height so it will be more stable; 2. Always use the time-lapse feature on your phone for either 3 or 10 seconds, in this way the telescope and the phone will remain stable and the moon photo will be sharp and amazing. 3. Be gentle on pressue the shutter, for less shake 4. Use iPhone camera's zoom in feature for larger details on the moon, definately better result that those barlow eyepieces (pay attention to camera change when zoom in, might need to adjust the camera hole on the phone adapter). I posted some images and videos we had for the moon, have fun on the moon watching lol. ... show more

Awesome telescope for its price. Small and portable — with a carry-on/portable backpack — I’m able to bring this with me anywhere I go. Assembly of the telescope is easy, comes with a clear instructions manual, and is great for star gazing. Very good quality, and even comes with a phone adapter (which works with both of the lenses included) that lets you take pictures of the stars through the telescope. Overall build quality of the product is sturdy, with the aluminum tripod legs that are usually found in much higher-end professional cameras adding a level of stability and comfort. The final product took a little time to assemble and mount onto the tripod, but with help of the brief and concise instruction video, the overall process is much smoother. Most importantly, the image quality is stunning. The images are crisp and clear, due to the large lenses and high-quality coatings. This telescope is really good! My kids loves it. It’s easy to set up, just follow the instructions only take few minutes. Most important thing I think is adjusting the finder. The tripod is really professional one and very stable! Even better than what I have for my camera💪 we took lots of high quality pictures of moon with this! Looks great, easy to use, great views, our Moon looks great, can see rings of Saturn, small but visible. At the 60x rating, I thought the views provided of the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn were VERY close to as good as my also newly purchased Celestron NexStar 127 SLT. Moon looks FANTASTIC through this scope. For viewing smaller objects at night (planets, etc), lining them up in the eyepiece can be difficult at night. This is where a telescope with a side spotting / alignment viewfinder comes in helpful. Nonetheless, here's what I did to line up on small objects. Walk around until you can get the small object you want to view over say the peak of a rooftop. Start your spotting scope aimed at the rooftop peak, and slowly pan upwards until you find your desired small planet. This takes some care and patience to get, but it does work. Once you find Saturn, you'll be able to clearly see its rings, even though my lousy iphone photo doesn't show them. Trust me, your eyes will see way more detail than this photo shows.
