Bought it as an anniversary gift for my husband. My budget is under $200, and after doing some research, to be honest, most of the beginner telescopes that fit my budget on Amazon seem to have similar lenses and aperture. I am not expecting to see a clear view of Jupiter or the fabulous ring of Saturn, given this context, this telescope really surprised me with its quality. Very high-end look, a little bit on the heavier side, but very sturdy, I had a Celestron telescope also with 90mm refractor, so far I think this one has outperformed the Celestron one. You can get a clear view of the moon, and a good view of Orion’s Belt… still working on the smartphone adapter, will definitely update with more pictures of the planets once we figure it out. Overall, it’s east to put together, and perfect for stargazing on a clear night in the suburb area. If you want a decent telescope without breaking the bank, this is a good one to go. ... show more

It works really well it's slightly difficult to put together if you are an experienced and don't know what they're talking about or referring to when they call certain things by their names and also the instructions kind of skip a step here there so it makes it a little harder to figure out

WoW This telescope is fantastic!!! The 90mm aperture and 700mm focal length provide clear, sharp views of the moon and object you want to capture. The AZ mounting is easy to adjust, making it great for beginners. I also tried to use the phone adapter and wireless remote to take a picture of the moon yesterday, really like the result! I just got this telescope, and its way better than I expected! It’s super easy to set up—no need to read the manuals. It focuses effortlessly, gives a crystal-clear view, and looks pretty stylish too. The way it shows celestial objects is incredible, seeing the moon’s craters and stars are super sharp and stable. After returning from a visit to Chabot Space & Science Center and seeing my son's love of planets, I decided to buy him an astronomical telescope. The day we received it was close to the full moon, and after my son finished assembling it himself I went outside with him to observe the moon. It was our first time to see the moon so clearly and my son was very excited. This telescope is very easy to assemble (9 year old boy can assemble it by himself 😄), magnification ranges from 28x to 210x, you can see the moon clearly, and the tripod is free to adjust the height to suit both adults and children. Together my sister and I have 5 kids who LOVE all things space-related. When I started looking for a telescope, I looked at some kid-specific models but quickly realized they lacked many important features, which is why we bought this more comprehensive model – and I am SO glad we did! This telescope kit is even better than I was expecting. For instance, the product details and pictures show a carrying bag, but I didn’t realize that the bag is super padded – like 1” foam all around with cut-outs for each of the larger pieces and another smaller bag to hold the lenses. We can certainly transport this without worrying about it getting damaged. As for the magnification and focus, it is incredible. The instructions book (which has a TON of great tips) recommended setting this up and learning to focus in the daytime, which we did. With just the 25mm lens (the “weakest”) we could see nails in fence posts down the road! Moreover, focusing is really simple and the mounting base provides a smooth, gradual adjustment so you can focus perfectly on exactly the spot you want. In addition, the legs are really sturdy and they adjust to full standing height; not just the table-top models that some telescopes have. The parts all seem well made, with mostly metal fittings, and everything has protective caps that slide on and off easily. Now that I know how to set it up and take it down, I can do so in just a few minutes. I was originally looking at taking the kids to a planetarium but realized the cost for everyone would be as much or more than just purchasing a good telescope. This is SO much more cost-effective as the kids can use this anytime they want. My son is already putting together a calendar that shows all of the moon phases and other astronomical events through the end of next year! For us, this telescope is something our kids can grow with and it provides a fun, educational, wholesome, outdoor, family-bonding experience. ... show more

This is a very good telescope, and it is also very easy to install. The moon you see is really beautiful! Since it was installed, the child has watched it every night. Sometimes he even tells me which star it is. The child really likes it very much, which makes me feel very relieved. It is good.
