Gorgeous and came promptly

  • I like it better than my 2001 Martin 00028 Eric Clapton Acoustic......Really!!!
After playing this guitar for 6 months, I can tell you that this is hands down my favorite guitar! Those are tall words because I have a 2001 Martin 00028EC acoustic in pristine condition that will shortly be listed on Ebay. Before you start typing up your comments on how crazy I am , give me another sentence or two to explain. I have really small hands and can play the Taylor technically better than my Martin because the neck is much wider causing lots of buzz and unwanted sounds. Because I can "play" the mini better and more precise it sounds better to my ear. Yes, the Martin will play louder with more punch and articulation but for shear playing enjoyment, I really love the mini!! I leave it around my house on the sofa, on my bed, it its around and always within reach. I take it with me wherever I go and didn't breakdown in tears when I got my first ding. Its portable, playable and sounds absolutely amazing to my ear. If your a beginner about to make your first purchase, this is absolutely the guitar for you. If your advanced, you should go play one. I did make a few minor adjustments to "tweak" the guitar. Mainly I sanded the bridge to lower the playing action and changed out the nut to a zero fret nut which makes playing cowboy chords louder and crisp. Taylor must be selling a ton of these babies because they are now made in like 6 different styles. I hope Taylor contacts me to be their spokesperson for the "Old Guys with small hands market segment", because I want a GS Mini in KOA!!! ... show more

  • Love at first strum!
This guitar is freaking awesome! I am absolutely taken by this guitar well done Taylor. I bought this travel guitar just to play around the house so I could strap it on my shoulder and play troubadour while watching my kids play from room to room. It is nice and compact so I could just sling it onto my back and pick up my toddler if she falls down or gets into something she’s not supposed to. It surpassed my every expectation and I instantly fell in love with it. The tone is simply brilliant from such a small size guitar. Taylor really went all out in the quality and fine craftsmanship of the GS mini. The ebony fretboard and elixir strings are as smooth as velvet which makes for easy chord progressions. The only thing I would change if I could would be the nut size I have fairly fat fingers and the smaller nut size makes it a little difficult for me to get my fingering right. If Taylor would make a special edition with a larger nut size I would definitely buy that one too. ... show more

  • Impressive tone and playability
This is my third acoustic guitar, and is the best sounding, most fun-to-play steel string that I own. Since I bought this Taylor, the only other guitar I really touch is my classical. The gig bag it comes with is great. The size of the guitar makes it perfect for lounging on the sofa playing- you know, all those times we don't use correct posture and end up with spre knecks and shoulders? None of that with this. But again, most important is that it is so playable and responsive and produces a beautiful tone. It's a great guitar for all skill levels. ... show more

  • Looks beautiful, sounds great and the perfect size!!
I love, love this guitar. I'm no proffesional but both my sons play so we have several guitars in our home and as players we range from novice to pro. My oldest son plays and performs in public, but when he comes home he always grabs my Taylor. And always remarks what a great tone it has for a smaller guitar. I ordered this because I am petite and have much smaller hands than my sons and I wanted something smaller and easier to play and learn on (and also hoping my boys wouldn't claim it as their own.) It looks beautiful and sounds wonderful. It's a favorite by all of the pickers in our home. And the size is perfect for me (smaller hands) and for traveling. I was a bit nervous to order this from Amazon, but I always rely on reviews and this didn't dissapoint. If you have a beginner in the house or a younger player with smaller hands, or just want a great sounding travel guitar I highly recommend!!! ... show more

  • WOW
I have found this to be a love/hate thing. Either you really LOVE Taylor guitars or you don't. I happen to like them. I had a poor experience with a Martin, so Taylor got my business. I have not regretted it. This little cutie is a pleasure to play (I am still learning) and sounds great for it's size. The only down check is if you buy one you may want to set aside some extra clinkies in case the unit you get needs a "set-up" done to it (like mine did). I also own a Taylor 214ce rosewood guitar and it came out of the box already "set-up". Oh, and since the mini was in the shop and torn apart, I had them install the ES-GO pick-up. It was money well spent. The mini really sounds great when you put it thru an amplifier. The mahogany, as compared to the spruce version, has richer tones on the base end of the spectrum where the spruce is mellow on the higher end. If you like Taylor products, you'll LOVE this one!!!! ... show more

  • Guitar was in perfect condition & ready-to-play after tuning
This guitar is acoustic only (no electronics) and was purchased for use by a small person with short arms and small hands. The size is very manageable, and the action setting on the strings makes is much easier to play than the typical "standard" setting on another, larger guitar. Guitar was boxed well, was packed in a well-padded custom gig bag, arrived in perfect condition, and arrived a day earlier than originally predicted. The mini needed only minor tuning, and it was ready to play -- straight out of the gig bag and has a great sound overall. No problems to report with the product. ... show more

  • The best little guitar for the money
I love this guitar so much, I want to pick it up and play it all the time. The fretboard is 1/16" inch narrower than my Yamaha dreadnought, which makes hitting chords much easier, and the 3/4 size makes it much easier to hold in my lap and get my arm over the top of it. Despite the small size it has a beautiful, full tone and can stand up to really aggressive strumming. Other, lesser guitars that I've owned, the tone starts to distort and fall apart with loud playing. Not so the Mini-GS. I heartily recommend it. ... show more
