Man I love these things. I mainly fish a large reservoir at about 6000 feet in Colorado and trout don’t just hit these things. Trout attack them and want to annihilate them. Some success with smallies as well but I suspect it’s primarily a trout lure. I don’t use the wire that comes with them but rather thread the leader through the lure and trailing bead and tie off to the treble hook. I troll at about 2.5 mph and the Taz wildly gyrates through the water which definitely triggers attacks (whether feeding or territorial is unclear). Pink seems like a great color in my water. The treble hooks are a blessing and a curse: effective but snag on everything and can make releasing fish a challenge. a very experienced fisherman here in Wisconsin laughed at me when I cast this lure into the river, saying I'd never catch anything with it - every time I cast it, I brought back a nice Walleye - also caught a bass on it - then a Northern came along and I had neglected to put a leader on, so the Northern took off with my Taz - while I was hauling fish after fish out of the river, my friend tried four different lures of standard issue around here, and never got a hit, much less a fish - I ordered five more Taz' of various types - looking forward to fishing this spring! ... show more
