The water heater was very easy to install, and it’s wonderful to have an outdoor shower with As much hot water as long as you want. The outside of the shower has bamboo on it, the inside has cedar, which smells really good when you shower. All I needed to do was to run a garden hose out to the outdoor shower. ... show more

I purchased this last year but just took it out of the packaging this morning as I never had a need until now to use it. Everything was carefully hooked up per instructions and initially it appeared to be working out just fine, hot water was coming out. However, things quickly got worse. The flames in the unit begin to vary in size even on the lowest setting and the unit would shut off randomly because of overheating. The water coming out the end was scalding and steaming. I looked at the back of the unit and the metal was scorched and the label melted on the side of the unit. Luckily this was a temporary test run and not installed on a wood platform as that would’ve caused a fire. Also someone could’ve got seriously burned if using as a shower because the temp was not consistent. I would recommend spending a little more for a more reliable unit or maybe I just got a defect not sure? Unfortunately I am outside my return window because I took so long to test but just wanted to share my experience. Plus instructions are not clear about how to adjust or set the correct heat and temperature using the dials, the unit also would immediately shut off if the water side knob was slightly turned higher than the lowest setting. ** would like to amend my review as Camplux quickly reached out to me in order to rectify the issue and safety concerns I had faced with my defective unit. Plain and simple, but it did the job well. Easy to put together, the water pump has enough pressure to provide a good flow of water from the shower head, and the water got hot fast!! I had a little issue on one of the knobs but their tech support answered my email in less than a day and resolved the issue in less than 3 days. I recently bought this rather expensive heater and was extremely excited about it. I set it up and at first everything was okay. AFTER ONLY 4 USES it started making a very loud sound and stopped heating the water altogether. I called the support number and spent a large portion on my afternoon on the phone trying to following troubleshooting steps which included disassembling the heater in way that made me feel like I needed a degree in engineering. After that, the support team concluded that I was given a defective unit and a new one would be shipped to me. However, after almost two weeks of waiting, the item has not shipped, the company will not answer my emails nor will they answer the phone. As stated below after a year of owning this water heater it stopped working. Camplux responded to this review very promptly and attempted to help me problem solve the issue. After a couple attempts without success Camplux decided the best course of action was to send me a complete new unit. I found Camplux to be very helpful and timely with their responses and assistance. The new unit arrived only 4 days after they stated they would replace it. After all this I would recommend Camplux products!! I am changing my 1 star rating to 5. I know some would only give 4 stars, I feel they went above and beyond to assist me and I really like their product! Easy to use and set up. Thank you again Camplux I appreciate your service!! "I bought this product on May 2, 2022. It worked great all summer long. I followed the directions for storage completely as stated in the manual and stored it in my house for the winter. 2 days ago I set it all up and it didn't work. I replaced the batteries, nothing. I increased the water pressure a little and nothing!! I tried to call the customer service number of Camplux and NO answer. IF someone from Camplux is reading this, please respond or contact me. For anyone who has had issues hooking up regular garden hoses to this thing, keep reading. For all others, I really like the functionality of this water heater and it meets my needs perfectly. Almost instant hot water with zero fuss and no electrical hookups! Now, for the true reason I'm writing this review... I went to hook this up for the first time and realized that they had sent the wrong adapters for hooking up a standard garden hose to this thing. Minor annoyance, but no big deal. I emailed Camplux requesting the correct fittings, and they promptly responded saying they would ship them out right away. They arrived about 5 days later, which was great! I went to attach them, only to find that they had sent me the same ones I already had, just labeled differently. At this point I was pretty annoyed because I really wanted to use this thing. I sent Camplux another email with pictures describing what was happening, and once again they were very prompt and sent out the "correct" adapters right away. When they arrived 5 days later, they sent me the exact ones they had just sent!! At that point I went to my local plumbing supply store (I don't think your standard hardware store would stock these) and they were able to give me the fittings I needed. While Camplux's customer service was very prompt and professional, they are either having issues with their manufacturing, or are not very knowledgeable about hose adapters. ... show more

The water line within the unit burst after 2.5 years of use. However, the company's customer service was outstanding. They quickly contacted me and sent a replacement without any hassle. I'm really impressed with how they stand behind their product.
