Description

Imperial Japanese Navy battleship and lead ship of her class - the heaviest and most powerfully armed battleships ever built. Kit features optional full or waterline hull with internal reinforcing structure and screws, pivoting rudders, excellent fine raised and engraved surface textures, fully detailed superstructure and weapons, 18" gun turrets with interior detail (including gun breeches) and barbette detail, interchangeable blast bags allow mains guns to be positioned at high or standard elevation, durable ABS mast components, optional position hangar doors, ship's boats, FM1 and E13A seaplanes, anchor chain, fine deck fittings (90% of the deck components are molded separately), metal propeller shafts, photo-etch parts (nameplate, cable reels, crane booms, aircraft details, catapult rails, small platforms, ladders, radar) plus display stand. Completed model is approximately 29.6" long. Also includes color painting guide, printed paper flag sheet and decals for hull markings and aircraft insignia.

Excellent product! I’m still in process of assembling this kit but it’s so much fun. I think Tamiya is the best company in the market for plastic kits. All parts are nicely finished and there’s no problem with fitting them. I recommend the seller! They shipped my package straight from Japan and it came just one week later. The Best model kit. Don't recomend to beginners. There were some damages in some part(broken) but I fixed them with super glue. You need make lots of holes, so if you have small drill that would be very helpful. I added LED in the search lights. If you buy 3mm LED lamp they will fit very well with kit. Arrived from Japan early and in good condition! Just wish US makers would put this much effort and detail into their models. Yes it is expensive! However, just looking at the instructions and the detail I believe this is a good 1-2 month project for me. Just what I wanted. Thank you, Tamiya! Hope this helps! This is what I believe to be Tamiya's best-ever plastic model. Considering the quality of Tamiya kits, that is saying a lot. They had an earlier version of the Yamato, but this kit is an entirely new kit (not a retool) based on new information recently unveiled. I am still researching the subject (aided by "The Battleship Yamato (Anatomy of the Ship"), and have yet to start construction. Initial impressions of the casting quality, packaging, and instructions, are very high. This was shipped directly to my home in Nova Scotia, and it arrived within ten days of ordering. possibly the best 1/350 scale ship out there, definitly tamiya's best ship ever. wouldn't buy if you want to make it into RC or anything, but it's level of detail is great for dioramas or just a simple "sit on the shelf" project. the booklets it comes with are also great, and shed alot of light that is hard to find on the ship! 10/10 ... show more
