Building this brought back great memories as a kid. Not sure why some folks gave it bad reviews. I'm assuming they assumed it was a ready-to-run pre-assembled model. This needs fully built and painted. Mine did come with a Tamiya ESC that is brushless/brushed capable. That was a pleasant surprise.

I had one of these when I was a kid and I destroyed it 100 times and rebuilt just as fast. It's a great car for beginners and kits are the best way to learn how something works. The have lots of "hop-up" parts available, so it stays interesting. This kit is not the cutting edge tech of todays RC vehicles, but it is what came before it. There are plenty of more advanced options out there...but if this is a first car why spend many hundreds of dollars more on something that may not spark a flame. It's true the body is polycarbonate and it can be fragile. It also won't take the abuse that some of the more modern vehicles of today would...but when I was a kid it was called "respect" for you things and value for what I was given. So, I didn't drive it into curbs or walls purposely...but it happens LOL!!!! You can also find numerous inexpensive Lexan bodies and tons of replacement parts should something bad happen. But that's the whole point, have fun and break it!!! You can always fix it and do it again. Remember, they wouldn't have brought it back 30 years later if it wasn't such a cool RC car. Have fun, your only a kid once and after 40 years I am still in the hobby. ... show more
