Description

Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly and Esther Williams find romance, gangsters and lots of song and dance on the baseball diamond in the fast-paced, fun-filled musical romp Take Me Out to the Ball Game.1906. The champion ball club The Wolves' success depends on the powerhouse double play combination of O'Brien to Ryan to Goldberg. Trouble is O'Brien (Kelly--An American in Paris, Brigadoon) and Ryan (Academy Award winner Sinatra--From Here to Eternity, Pal Joey) would rather be pursuing their vaudeville career than playing baseball . . . that is until the team gets a new owner, beautiful K.C. Higgins (Williams --Dangerous When Wet). And when a professional gambler who has bet heavily against The Wolves tries every dirty trick he knows to influence the outcome of the big game, it's the baseball players against the gangsters for a wild, hysterical, musical nine innings.

  • LOVE IT. ❤️
This is lesser known but my absolute favorite of the Frank Sinatra/Gene Kelly movies. I am a HUGE Betty Garret fan and she is at the top of her game in this.

  • You Can’t Go Wrong With Gene Kelly
This is one of three films where Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra appear together. I never liked Frank Sinatra so well as when he plays off Gene Kelly. Pure fun and entertainment.

  • Cute movie
Gene Kelly is my favorite actor and this was my first time watching something other than signing in the rain. Plus Ester Williams is good in this film as well.

  • A wonderful movie.
A great musical with plenty of fun and songs. Esther Williams is beautiful and funny. The music andcolor make this a great film. Outstanding cast of players. One other point, I met Frank Sinatra back in the 50;s & we both had the same birthday (ADec12th)

  • So it's not politically correct...get over it.
I bought this because I am a fan of Gene Kelly. It may not be my favorite, but I love to watch him dance. No, it's not PC now, but it was produced in a different time...1949...and people weren't so offended by remarks. If you are PC, don't buy it. But if you love old musicals, Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra, try it. ... show more

  • A Very Entertaining Movie. Great Comedy, dancing and singing content.
Classic Hollywood. Great dancing, singing and some slapstick comedy. A great story line as well. Gene Kelly did an excellent job.
