I ordered the TAILONG Men Compression Shirt/Tank Top primarily for back support to wear while I play sports (soccer, mainly). I have moderate scoliosis and have a spine that curves to the side. As a result, I have suffered from varous degrees of back pain throughout most of my adolescent and adult life. I've always been caught up in that vicious cycle of 'take off the weight to ease the pressure off the back and knees,' but when you put on weight you experience so much pain so you can't exercise and then you put on even more weight, etc, etc. Plus, I work long hours and end up eating late in spite of my best (sporadic) efforts. Plus, I hate exercising. I'm one of those who much prefers to play sports (soccer and table tennis/ping pong mostly) rather than go to the gym, lift weights, or even jogging. I need help with current, ongoing bouts of back pain and of course I'm interested in preventing future episodes of back pain. I've often wondered if compression tops would help and I've tried quite a few. One of the things I've realized with compression tops is that the quality a brand starts off with is very rarely maintained, especially the quality of the material used, or the product is discontinued so you can't buy it anymore. The TAILONG Men Compression Shirt really helps with my back pain and my posture. I am very happy with it. It took some time to put it on the first couple times because of the hooks and I simply wasn't accustomed to it but you work out a system pretty quickly (I start by hooking the bottom first then moving up, then fxing the zipper at the bottom and sliding it up). The material is very good quality and the size chart is pretty adequate. If anything, order a size larger than you normally would, the adjustment hooks on the inside of the top should compensate with regard to comfort. The slimming effect is seconday for me, but it works very well in that department as well. I am, Age / 47 Height / 5’7 ft Chest / 38 inch Waist / 34 Weight / 170 lbs Belly / Medium round (no six pack) Body / Normal (not skinny, not fat) Shirt / Medium or Large depending brands but I usually wearing Medium size. My body posture is normal - not skinny and not fat but I have round stomach and little bit of mens boob that shows when I'm wearing shirts. I guess part of the aging process. I was skeptical at the beginning until I ordered Tailong Men Compression Shirt - MEDIUM size. I'm so happy with the results. This is really worked to hide my round stomach and mens boob. I tried it on the first hook (the tighter one) - make sure you pull and flatten your tummy inside when you are putting the hooks together for easier to put it on. The fit is snug and tight but still comfortable, after awhile I get used to it and I don’t have a problem to move around and breathe normally. The zipper compression really makes everything looks even better. Whenever I'm wearing the compression my round stomach and side handle looks flat and slimmer. Now I have so much confident wearing a slim-fit shirt or player version soccer jersey. It’s helped my posture and boost my confidence. I've got so many compliments when I'm wearing it but I realized it's only temporary slim-fit effect created by Tailong compression. I really want to have the real one. It's motivated me to exercise more and go to the gym to build some muscle to have an athletic body and better posture so that I don't have to wear this compression forever. Everybody is different. Different goals and expectations. I have purchased many (5) support vests and one support abdominal band because of my recent surgery for diastases repair. Many of them do not have the compression support I need. I like this one because of the focus of support in the abdominal area. I don't need compression for "moobs: as many vests are designed to take care of. I read a few reviews and one person listed a body type very close to mine and I ordered a medium like he did. It is close but a shade big. . If I am going to use this garment to look good going out it is a bit thick, but does the job. But for my abdominal support it needs to be tighter. I am thinking of ordering a small. which based on the measurement guide I should have no business trying on, but the medium was supposed to be too small for me too. TIP: Hook up the waist belt first then step in. This will save you a lot of hassle trying to set a million hooks while holding tension. I may order a small now, I have worn this enough that I am not comfortable returning it for an exchange. plus I may have spent enough money already trying out other vests. Give it a try. It seems like the sizing chart is off for everyone...too small to too large. Do the step in method. If it doesn't work send it back and try something else or a different size. FYI: It is not ultra svelte to hide under thin clothing but comfortable enough to wear for a long time. ... show more

My doctor instructed me to begin wearing support for a diastasis recti -- a bulge in the abdomen -- that was growing larger. I began using an abdominal wrap which worked fine, but the end kept riding up toward my armpit. When I was selecting this shirt, the Amazon recommendation suggested LG, probably because I always order LG shirts. However, my stomach is the problem. The first shirt was so tight I could not breathe. So, I measured my stomach at the largest part and consulted the size chart. The 3x was perfect. It provides support for my stomach without strangling my air. Good quality, and very pleased with the larger size.
