  • Very Disappointed
I coudnt ride the Tacx Neo 2 even for 1-2 miles without it loosing all resistance. I saw that the red light was blinking indicating overheating. I Couldn't get across this issue. Not sure if this was singular defective product or a common issue.

  • The is an expensive paper weight.
I ordered one new, out-of-the-box, Neo 2 Smart trainer and on the first ride, 10 min into the ride the trainer over heated. Went through support, did what they said to correct problem and second ride overhead and shut down 8 minutes in. Returned it received a second, new not refurbished one, and first ride same thing Overheating warning and it shut down 12 min in. The units body as very hot to the touch. ... show more

  • Upgrade from Computrainer that I rode for 25 years.
I am an early adaptor to wattage based trainers and bought a Computrainer when they ran on Nintendo! To go virtual I bought this guy for my Covid 19 tours! I had to adapt to the wattage differences between these two trainers and I also rode twice before updating the software per recommendation of customer service. Currently I am riding through the videos available from Tacx(not Garmin). I have had rides in Italy and France, up agricultural roads into vineyards and through picturesque village or along lakes or bike paths. Some of the climbs are slogs with 9% grades and if there are cobbles you get simulated vibration. You will be distracted by all this of course and an hour and a half later there is a pool of sweat below your bike. This one came without the cogs so you need to put them on. I had never done this but YouTube to the rescue. This seller sends one along. I recommend you put some alpine cogs..12-31 perhaps as you will need it to get up some of these roads. Totally love the feel and out of saddle where it give you some flex. Keeps track of your stats of course. I don't know how your beat this one truthfully. Quiet, except for the grunting and panting of the guy above it. The magnetic resistance shouldn't have any wear issues and the reliability seems excellent from reports. I don't know why you would need the higher wattage version as this one kicks me without slippage. I paid a little more than this for my Computrainer back in the 90's and it could still be my ride if they had evolved to the virtual world. So for the money you can't ask for a better value I doubt. Of course Zwift is likely going to be where I go next but for now I really love these videos! I just rode around Rome and as I know the town pretty well it was very cool to see the place I knew and some areas I had never seen. This could be an awesome way to get to know a city! No traffic, no dogs, no distracted drivers, no fumes..Or at least not for me as the rider you are with has all of those! Great workout! Ride on! ... show more

  • A great trainer bundle that is almost like the real thing
I use this trainer almost daily. I previously owned a wheel-on trainer, which is inferior to this in every way. Pros: Great road feel, accurate power and cadence, fairly small footprint, work with or without AC power, no calibration necessary this came bundled with cassette installed Cons: the power is TOO accurate, even when using Zwift’s 3 second power average. This makes holding specific wattage difficult because it fluctuates throughout the pedal stroke. I initially had problems with the cadence not registering, which was followed by complete resistance dropout. This resolved on its own. ... show more

  • Quiet
I moved up from a fluid trainer and the reduction of noise is phenomenal. I am using a MictoTech 11 speed 11-28T cassette which has not shown any issues. The Tacx Neo 2T Is very sturdy / stable due to the large footprint and it quickly folds up for storage. It is a heavy unit which makes the lack of handles an inconvenience but I don’t have plans to travel with the unit. The multiple road simulations were uncomfortable the first time I experienced that mode but now it is one of my favorite features. I used the free 30 day Tacx program but for my needs it doesn’t compare well against Zwift . ... show more

  • No resistance. No ride. No replacement.
Couldn't even complete one mile. No resistance. Unit said it was overheating. Utility App said it was actually too cold. It was neither. It was located in a heated spare bedroom. I wasn't able to ride it for more than a minute. Returned it a week ago. Still waiting for my replacement. Incredibly disappointed. ... show more
