Paw Patrol Loving child was obsessed with this. Had played with it at someone's house but not in the water. I read reviews and people complained that it doesn't swim. That is true. The weight of it doesn't allow it to balance in the water. If that's a problem, you don't want to buy it. But if you're just looking for something paw patrol awesome it's great. My granddaughter (4) was thrilled to get this mer-pup because Skye is her favorite character. It might perform slightly better in a wading pool than the bathtub. Tiny windup knob is challenging for small fingers and it doesn’t swim long on each windup. Wish it had a pull string instead of winding up. ... show more

I knew my little girl would LOVE this for her birthday, but I noticed all the reviews that said the toy was too top heavy to swim, so I became hesitant. I decided to show my daughter a few options and this is still the toy she wanted most for her birthday present (even after I explained it couldn't swim). So I bought it and when she opened it on her birthday, to our delight, discovered that it totally swims fine! The body is submerged while the head bobs above water as it "swims" around for about 10 seconds after each wind up. This toy is a must have for my 5 year old now whenever she takes a bath or goes to the pool :) ... show more

"wind-up toys that swim on their own". Yea, NO. Wind until you can't wind anymore, put her in the water, her flippers flip a little, they sink & her head floats, and she runs out of steam. REALLY a bad toy.

    • Skye works and does not fall over
The Skye that we got does not tip over. With most of her body in the water and her head and front paws out of the water she seems to do what she is supposed to do. Her body is more vertical than horizontal in the water. The people that said she tipped over may not have had enough water in the tub.
