Nice and sturdy, I’ve been looking for one of these so I can use my laptop from my couch more comfortably . Set up was fairly easy. The tiny screws and screwdriver were a hassle but if you use anything bigger like a drill you might strip the screw so be careful

The table itself once put together looks great and is sturdy, though it's not as tall as most other coffee tables (so definitely check the height). Putting it together was a bit more difficult than most others I've built- including a step which is misleading and there is no going back from. As there are few predrilled holes it's easy to put something into the wrong hole and you're stuck. I had to personally drill extra holes to 'fix' a wrong move, so the top isn't perfectly secure but looks fine. Recommend as long as you're okay being frustrated with the building and recognize the lower height - once done it looks and functions great and is a great price for what you get! ... show more

Got this table as a gift for a friend and we put it together as a team, and everything was going fine until we had to use the flimsy little wrench to take off the dampening rod. It bent and became too big for its purpose. We ended up using pliers to get the bolt off and then back on later, which worked just fine. Also! When attaching the metal pieces to the bottom that the legs screw into, it feels like the holes don’t match up with the pre-drilled holes, but it’s like each piece has one corner it fits with. Other than those two things, this table was easy to assemble and it looked really nice when we finished! Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture 🙃 ... show more

    • Screws are hard!

The steps were easy enough to follow. The amount of screws make it seem pretty stable. I was disappointed that the legs were just hard plastic. The short screws that go in to the pre drilled holes were ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. I stripped a couple screws. The screwdriver sent with it was almost completely stripped. I used another similar tool from another project, that stripped, it stripped my drill bits and another real screwdriver. Plus, I couldn’t get them seated flat. (The ones in the picture I did eventually get down completely but I had to use different screwdriver.) I have carpal tunnel and usually building projects like these don’t affect it too much but this was so hard to do. Everything else about it is great! Just make sure you find a screwdriver that fits perfectly to avoid stripping your tools or the screws. Side note, not sure if it’s an issue or if it's common but the lift seems to be loose on one side. ... show more

Assembly instructions were effortless to follow. The material of the table and hardware actually exceeded my original expectations I gathered based off the price. The woods integrity surprised me, to be honest. I wasn’t expecting much more than cheap particle board with a thin and feeble finish but in fact the wood is fairly dense and so far the finish has withstood hot ramen spills, rambunctious children, a rather clumsy husband, playful, large breed dogs and accidental chemical sprays that aren’t meant for its surface, without a single mark or abrasion left behind. It’s affordable in most cases and really adds a little character to the space. It’s versatile to say the least. It can be used as a simple coffee table, a desk, storage or all three simultaneously. I didn’t give it 5 star review due to a manufacturer error that was on my particular order that is plausibly a scarce occurrence. One bolt is cross threaded so bad on one of the hydraulic arms that it was completely ceased up and I couldn’t get it off in order to screw the hydraulic arm’s mounting structure into the wood without some difficulty. Which would’ve been fine except the bolt is ceased up closer toward the middle of the thread on the screw that holds the hydraulic arm in place which is supposed to be soft close. Because of this, the edge of the table top ever-so-slightly skims the brim of the stationary top next to it which makes the close a little more abrupt than advertised. Overall, I would highly recommend purchasing this piece of furniture to anyone looking for a new coffee table as it pairs well with almost any style home and will hardly leave a mark at all, if any, on your bank account. ... show more
