This is my first L-bracket, so I may not be attuned to potential flaws, but I'm very happy with the SUNWAY. I figured I'd try this one before committing to spend 3X as much on another brand, but I see no shortcomings that would make me want to upgrade. The machining, fit, and finish are all first rate and it looks right at home on the camera. I was worried about adding unsightly bulk to my D850 but it does not, and the side rail actually gives my fingers a more secure grip on that side of the camera. The instruction booklet provided minimal information, as with many Asian import products sold on Amazon, but there's really a not a lot to figure out - if you want to ensure precise vertical/horizontal alignment the internet has the answers. For the price and build quality you get that is a small complaint, to be sure. ... show more

    • Very nice bracket
Purchased this as an alternative to another brand and it does not disappoint. It was VERY easy to install with the included tools. I was a little disappointed that the package did not include the bag or the cleaning cloth with it (as noted in the pictures), but I'm happy with the product. After attaching to my D850, I tested it out on my MEFoto Q1Pro head and it worked flawlessly, both in portrait and landscape orientation. Sliding the bracket along the mount screw also allowed easy access to the accessory ports to use while in portrait orientation. Can't wait to go test it out in the field with my tripod. Now, I have to find an Arca-compatible lens bracket for my 200-500 lens. ... show more

    • Solid one piece L bracket.
This Sunway bracket is a solid one piece of aluminum which makes it sturdy. It is relatively light. The plate can be moved sideways but personally prefer it up against the camera. Excellent value for money too.

    • Good Workable Bracket for D850
I found that the fit on my D850 was fine - not perfect and not quite nice as the RRS brackets but I needed to save a few bucks this time around. One note - these are RRS compatible - not Arca-Swiss compatible - RRS created a slightly thicker version of the Arca-Swiss plates (I'll never understand why) and these brackets follow the thicker "standard". Sundayfoto parts seem to be consistently sized to match the RRS products. Other manufacturers size the same as Arca-Swiss, Novoflex, and Sirui (the thinner group). This ONLY impacts lever-lock types of mounts - and even my Arca Cube mount can be adjusted to fit these, but then it won't hold an Arca plate. With the knob type clamps, both "sizes" of plate seem to lock just fine and you only have to worry about pins or stops that may not line yup from brand to brand. Since I have some significantly heavy lenses I use, I have machined all of my plates to match the Arca standard, so I never have a plate fit but not grip (and potentially slide out). I don't think either one is better but it sure helps to keep all of your gear set up in alignment with one of the two "standards" and not have a mixture. ... show more

    • Excellent and cost effective L-Bracket for D850
Was a little on the fence with this, thinking how could this be as good as other brands charging near $200 for the same thing. I gave it a shot, based on all the great reviews here and the fact I have one for my D810 as well. The bracket is lightweight, very nicely crafted, and fits perfectly on my D850. It comes with two allen wrenches and the arc swiss designed bracket fits perfectly in my tripod head. On the bracket's vertical and horizontal arc swiss mount, there is a little "0" to align with your tripod head, if it has it. Makes putting the camera on the tripod perfectly aligned. Another nice feature is that there are two threaded holes on the horizontal arc swiss mount where you can screw in something like a black rapid threaded strap holder. This allows you to keep the L-bracket on with the strap. I also have full access to all ports and the battery. There's no body twisting either. Super glad I bought this. ... show more

    • Great quality, great savings.
It is after all, a precision machined piece of aluminum. That's it. That's all any of them are. I have the RRS L-bracket for my D800, and when I recently purchased a D850 went to that resource first. The "ultralight" model is roughly equivalent to what I had for the previous camera, but as before, wow, that price! So before I bit the bullet I did a quick search here on Amazon. Found this SunwayFoto L-bracket and it was roughly 1/3 the price of the RRS. I've received it, installed it on the D850, put it on my RRS ball-head tripod, and it fits and works great. So far I see no downside, but will update this review if something comes up in the coming months of use. ... show more

Despite my concern based on reviews that indicated that this item did not fit the Nikon D850 properly, I found that this was not the case. It does fit perfectly & appears just as sturdy as similar items costing 2or 3 times as much. I’m very satisfied with this purchase.

    • Fit and finish is great
As far as I can tell, it is the same build quality and finish as my Kirk and RRS L-brackets for less than half the cost. Solid construction. One minor issue is I wish it was a bit tighter to the body on the left side since I rarely open the rubber access doors. The attachment screw on the bottom is in a slot so there really is no need to have the gap on the left side (as seen from the back of the camera). Fits perfectly in my genuine Arca-Swiss ball head that is a screw (not a lever) to tighten. Other than that minor point, I can't really tell it apart from my other L-brackets. ... show more
