    • This has become one of my favorite tools in my box!
As a professional tech I also tend to be frugal. There's no way I was about to shell out hundreds of dollars for a 1/4 inch socket set from a tool truck. It's not like they have to handle a lot of torque or abuse! And since 1/4 sockets are so small they are super easy to lose as well! Instead I had been purchasing 1/4 inch chrome socket sets from parts stores or harbor freight for under $10. The price was right but I'd be lucky to get a few months use out of these before they became deformed and unusable. I finally decided to "splurge" on a decent set when I stumbled across this kit! All i can say is wow! They've held up great! They fit the nuts and bolts perfectly and the price is right! My ONLY complaint about this set is that they seem to fit just a little bit loose on my 1/4 inch extensions. It's almost like the lock fits loose in the hole on the sockets and I have to be a little bit careful because it doesn't take much for the socket to come off of my extensions. However I don't necessarily see this as a bad thing as because of this I'm much more careful about these sockets and I feel like that helps to keep me from losing them! I will note that many years ago I owned a set of Sunex 3/8" swivel sockets and they didn't last very long at all before the swivel portion would break. I was a bit skeptical about the quality of these sockets because of my experience with those but like I said so far these have been great! ... show more

Haven’t used it yet, but it has every size you would need for a 1/4” driver. I got this one discounted by buying Amazon used-like new. It was actually brand new, but just the plastic wrapper was torn at the handle. The rest of the wrapper was intact and the box could not have ever been opened. Great deal! ... show more

The 11/32 size in this kit is a gem. It will remover stripped 10mm-iah bleeder screws. This is an amazing tool kit to have. Solid choice. Professionally used and they are so good. Just get a specialty close quarter 1/4 in socket set/ ratchet that has a good handle and maybe go with the splined socket type for close quarters. A lot of value here for generally tools... Especially that 11/32 size with seunex socket design. So good. ... show more

    • Hansen trays
Firstly, nearly nobody stores sockets in a blow molded case, except maybe mobile mechanics but most that I know still store theirs in a tray in a drawer. So while the blow molded case is pretty nice to ship the sockets, the end result doesn't really involve the case. While there are a few to choose from, the Hansen socket trays are more or less the industry standard. This set nearly completes each peg of the tray so if that's important to you, this is the most complete 1/4" impact set you will find. My primary issue you might view as an issue with the trays, but if you look inside the sockets most have a circular cut between the square for the drive anvil and the hex broaching. Many sockets are either broached down to the same center point with the square and hex, so the smaller of those two is the narrowest part of the socket. These Sunex sockets have a narrow neck with a circular cutout, and there are 6 sockets in the set that don't fit properly on the trays. The deep 14, 15, 4.5, 1/2, 9/16 and the shallow 4mm do not sit properly in the trays. I'm going to say the 4mm is more an issue with the tray mold than the socket; it is designed for a cylindrical rather than a tapered socket. To be fair these trays were probably not designed for impact sockets, especially the 1/4" trays, as 1/4" impact sockets are probably the least common drive size for impact. I had to sand down the taller pegs for the deep sockets, reducing their diameter until the sockets sit (drive side up is how the Hansens are designed) and you may also. If you plan to use Hansen trays instead of the others available, just keep in mind you will have some prep and some empty pegs (5/8, 9/32, 1/8) so be prepared for that. ... show more
