I have recently learned that having an Apple Pencil and a 2 year old…is a dangerous combination. I have always been ultra-focused on keeping track of my Apple Pencil. I am not an artist but I do work in the creative field. I don’t use my pencil everyday. But that days that I do, it is an essential part of my workflow. I am a video producer and use my 12.9 inch iPad Pro while I am conducting interviews. During the interviews I use the Apple Pencil to take notes, mark off questions, and jot down anything that is important. I went to prepare for work the other day and my pencil was GONE. I searched the house. 4 times. Eventually I gave up. Out of panic, I ordered another Apple Pencil. They are NOT cheap. I have always struggled with how much they cost considering how little I use it (compared to visual artists). After placing the order, I remembered an article I read on The Verge about 3rd party Apple Pencil alternatives. I figured I had nothing to lose, thanks to Amazon’s easy return policy. When this pencil arrived, I was shocked at how much it looked like the original one. It looks and feels almost the same, except it is a little bit lighter. It magnetically attaches to the side of my iPad and charges just like the Apple one. Writing on the screen is just as fast and smooth. I see absolutely no difference in performance. When I am highlighting notes and I turn this pencil sideways, it widens the breadth of where it is highlighting just like a real highlighter. I have always thought this was a cool feature of the Apple Pencil and this product is no different. My iPad battery widget shows the charge level just like the real one. The only feature lacking is pressure sensitivity. This pencil can’t tell how hard you are pressing down on it. But I find this to be 0% a problem for me at all. The pressure sensor is mainly used by visual artists who are drawing or painting with it. Someone who just takes notes has no need for the pressure feature. I honestly didn’t even know that was a feature until I lost mine and started looking at alternatives. There is one thing that slightly irks me about this product (and it is not a big deal at all). You have to wake it up when you first remove it from the iPad. I have found that this takes less than one second. When I remove it, I let go and allow it to snap back onto the magnets briefly. Then the light comes on and I pick it up again and use it. It has only been a few days and I am already used to doing this I don’t feel like it slows me down at all. If I know I am going to be taking a bunch of notes, I just leave it off the magnets until I’m done. There is one major advantage compared to the Apple branded pencil. Because this one needs to be woken up, the battery is preserved when it is not attached to the iPad. The Apple version tends to die in my backpack if I don’t have it attached to the side of the magnets. The “always on” nature of it means that it is always using a little juice even as it jostles around in my backpack. But this pencil, does not lose any charge unless you are writing with it. It can bounce around my backpack for days and not loose even a single % of charge. Unless you are very into drawing on your iPad, this is a no brainer. It is $100 USD cheaper and does almost everything the Apple version costs. I have since found my missing Apple pencil but I still use this one as my primary. Because it costs so much less, I don’t live in fear every day that I am going to lose it. If I do, it is not the end of the world. If you’re considering getting this, give it a try. I’m very impressed. I use this for work everyday on my iPad Pro. It helps me draw my designs and sign customer contracts. No complaints here for me! And I love the price point, I’ve even lost one and replaced it and still cheaper than the Apple Pencil.

Was working well and extremely useful when in use, even after a couple months of using it, it's still good. But then after a month of not using it, (because was on winter break so i didn't use my iPad or the pen), it's no longer turning on or even charging. I had to buy another stylus to replace the non responsive pen, which sucks, but I guess it does that when i don't use for a whole month. ... show more

This pencil looks and feels just like an Apple Pencil. It can’t do pressure sensitivity like the Apple Pencil so this might not be the best for an artist. For a business person taking notes and navigating iPad this is a wonderful value. The iPad even recognises it as an Apple Pencil so you can use the battery widget and use the Apple Pencil features in Settings. It paired easily and I like the quick access button for return to Home screen. The only issue for me is that after 20 minutes the pencil powers down. You will have to long press the button and it will turn back on and instantly reconnect to iPad. The real Apple Pencil wakes automatically when removed from the magnetic mount. For a savings of $100 I will gladly press a button to turn it back on. ... show more

This works great at any angle on my iPad Air 5th Gen M1 A2588. Very precise with no lag for me anyway. OK, it doesn't have pressure sensitivity but pens that do have this feature are more expensive and are often larger. Meanwhile this pen is recognized as an Apple pen and does pretty much everything the Apple pen does plus a few extras. It charges directly from the iPad so no charging cable to lose later. The green power on light is a circle around the power/option button on top and looks pretty cool. It also changes to blue and then red to indicate battery status. It fits perfectly in any case designed for the Apple pen where larger versions not so much. Finally I was attracted to it because it comes in black. I didn't want a white bar staring at me especially with a dark screen per movie, game, checking the news or emails in a dark room while watching TV etc. It is hidden and always ready to go when I need it. Artistic design on an iPad? OK, pressure sensitivity might be needed. Maybe several types of pens per different points. Then again a PC or Mac with the latest pro graphics software will certainly accomplish much more than trying to do the same on an iPad. You decide. ... show more

Great Apple Pencil dupe! Does exactly what the Apple Pencil does. Only difference is there’s a circle at the top to turn the pen on and off and it lights up if it needs a charge. But everything is the same as the Apple Pencil. It charges with the iPad and it tells you the battery percentage on the iPad. And it works great on the iPad for writing, drawing, etc. ... show more

I have owned both the Apple Pencil and this Bluetooth stylus pen. I wasn’t expecting much from it, after all you get what you pay for. I was pleasantly surprised how good this pen is. I used it for a year, and it worked great. This past Christmas I bought a second pen for a family member to enjoy as much as I have.
