This pencil is such a great item! Easily matches the performance of the high-cost matching brand name pencil. Out of the box, it’s ready to go. No pairing required, just make sure your “pencil” settings are all turned off. Tap the “eraser” end of the pencil, and it instantly works. The he blue light shows you it’s on. Comes already charged, so you can use it right away. Has a great weight and more expensive feel to it. I love using the rubber tip cover to cover the on/off switch while in use, so I don’t accidentally bump it off. Turns itself off after a period of inactivity, to save battery life. I bought this as a backup to my Apple Pencil (1st Generation) so that I'd have something to use while it charges. For about one-third the price, this stylus is a bold competitor. The look and feel is very similar to the Apple Pencil, though it does sport a flat edge similar to the Apple Pencil 2 (though not quite as wide an edge) that keeps it from rolling off the table. I have used it daily for over a week and have not needed to recharge it, so the battery life is impressive. I am guessing that this may have something to do with the fact that it is not a Bluetooth device. In fact, if you have an Apple Pencil connected to your device (I am using an iPad Air 3rd Generation), it won't work. You have to disconnect your Apple Pencil (you can also just turn off Bluetooth temporarily) for this stylus to be recognized. I also like the blue "on" status light. The Apple Pencil lacks that. I tend to flip my pen around in my hand while I think, and inadvertently turn the stylus off while I am working with it. With the Apple Pencil, I have a rubber stylus cap over the charging port (stem) and I use that to move my documents around and do other finger gestures. The Xiron Stylus Pen has a plain plastic top with no cap. I suppose one could put a cap on it, but then you'd have to remove it to turn the pen on and off. Anyway, I am getting used to not touching the pen top. It is very sensitive, so if you're Stylus Pen stops working, just make sure the blue light is on. You may have unknowingly turned it off. The nib is very sharp and accurate, which makes it great for both note-taking and drawing. I prefer to use a matte screen protector. Xiron makes one that works well with the iPad Air. It makes the screen feel more like paper when writing with a stylus, and adds to your ability to control the nib. Over all, this is a high-quality stylus that fits great in the hand and feels very natural to write with. It is just a bit thicker than the Apple Pencil (1st Gen), but you would only notice that if you held both at the same time. It charges very quickly and the charge lasts a long time. For the price, it really can't be beat. There are a lot of alternatives to the Apple Pencil on the market, each with its own pros and cons. I absolutely adore this stylus pen! It functions just as smoothly as a genuine Apple pen, responding with the same sensitivity and precision that you'd expect from a high-end product. The adorable pink color is an added bonus, making it not only efficient but also stylish. What's particularly impressive is the fast charging capability—just a short time plugged in and you're good to go for hours. However, there is a minor hiccup; the sensitivity at the top end of the pen is a bit too responsive, leading to frequent accidental activation. It's gotten to the point where even slight contact with surfaces like my shoulder or chest can turn it off unexpectedly while in use. Despite this, it stands as a great alternative, especially when the price of the official counterpart is a consideration. Seriously. I've used this pen and an Apple pen, and this one is SO much better, and for 1/5 the price! It's so user friendly even a baby could use it (probably; I've never given it to a baby to confirm). First of all, it doesn't require any sort of bluetooth/wifi/etc. connection. Literally all you have to do to use it is turn it on, and all you have to do to turn it on is tap the bottom on any vaguely skin-like surface. I've used my finger, my leg, my cheek, my nose, my cat's nose, my chest through my t-shirt, they all work. It charges with a c-type charger (which is really convenient for an Android user like me), it literally takes like 5 minutes to charge, the charge lasts for hours, and, in my opinion, the best part: you can use it while it's charging. I repeat. You. Can. Use. It. While. It's. Charging! Apple could never. Anyway, some other perks: It glides sooo smoothly. No lags, no wonky calibration, it's just like pen on paper. It comes with extra tips (they just screw in), though I've been using mine almost daily for a couple of months and I haven't noticed any wear yet It's about the size of an Apple pen, so it fits snugly in ipad cases that have the pen slot on the side (I have one so I can vouch) Don't waste your money on sub-par name brand products.
