    • Pretty massive ratchets that work nicely
Considering their size, the weight of these is pretty remarkable - probably why I am making a remark about them. I do like the case. I have a catchall leather carrying bag that I have long tossed my wrenches into and I spend more time looking for the right wrench than I do actually working. This case in bright blue and stands out from my others and I know exactly what to find inside. So the actual operation is pretty smooth. For something this size you simply are not going to get a lot of leverage, so don't expect it. And if you feel the need to put on a cheater pipe to get that leverage why not just switch to a larger ratchet or use a breaker bar. These are for tight operations. And has been said in these reviews, that is where these get interesting, because the heads really are pretty gigantic. However their actual thickness from the top to the drive spindle isn't extraordinarily thick. The 1/4" drive runs 5/8" from the base of the socket to the top of the interesting hexdrive center (never have had one of those before). So not really extreme. The head is 1" wide, and the length of the ratchet comes in at 3.5" The 3/8" drive is 3/4" from the top of the quick-release button to the base of the socket. The head is 1.25" wide and the ratchet is 4.25" long. Then the 1/2" drive is 7/8" from the top of the quick-release button to the base of the socket. The head is 1.5" wide and the ratchet is 5.25" long. So they are not extraordinarily large, but they are noticeably heavy. Very much so. I don't mind having the set at all, but it was a strange choice to put a hex assist on the 1/4" but quick release on the other two. Not sure why they did that. In trying them out in a fairly tight space they felt good in the hand if you treat them more the way you would a palm nailer or palm sander vs the full-sized version. Corralled in the palm of the hand it feels pretty good. You just use your wrist and forearm more than you would with a full-sized ratchet. And for the price, I told my wife, who specifically requested that she be able to use these on her car restoration projects, how does anyone make any money on a set like this? I don't know, but that is not going to be part of my review. I like these and they are very reasonably priced. ... show more

XJX Stubby Ratchet Wrench Set is a 3 piece ratchet set suitable for most jobs, but meant for tight spaces, hence the smaller handle size (dollar for scale). Head size is large, which could defeat the purpose in some small areas. They are heavyweight and solid - handles do have a grip to help with slipping. The 3 pieces are: 1/4" drive socket wrench, 3/8" drive, and 1/3" drive socket wrench. Storage box that it comes with is large and does take up space. Discarded ours and kept the ratchets in our tool bench.     • Great stubby set
This set appears to be high quality and comes in a nice case to keep them all together. They are the perfect length to work in all those tight spots or for when a long ratchet is just too unwieldy. I especially like that the 1/4" wrench can be used with screwdriver bits.

    • Great little set!
Seems like I am always wrenching on something and have found I’ve been using these stubbiest more and more. They are super comfortable to use and hold. In the past I have found myself holding the ratchet almost over the end to tighten and loosen smaller hardware. Works but it is not ideal especially in tighter places. No worries with these. Very well constructed and machined great. Nice positive gears. Really helps with not over tightening things. Nice case as well to keep it all organized. ... show more
