I have used this lure on a pond and have caught bass. A few casts and boom, there it was. The only complaint I have is the skirt is easy to mess up. The rest of the lure is strong but after a few bass the skirt starts to lose some of the strands. Other than that it's a great size and performs well on the pond. ... show more

Please understand that this is a top water lure unless you crank it in extremely slowly. Even then, it runs only a few inches below the surface unless you intentionally let it sink. That's not a bad thing, since the peacock bass in my lake love an angry buzz like panicked minnows skimming the surface to escape them, but if you need a more typical spinner bait that runs well below the surface, this isn't it. It also is the first buzzbait/spinner bait I've had that retrieves at an angle, like an untuned diving plug, but that's just a minor annoyance. Lake's been flooded over the past couple days, so maybe that's why I've only had a few half-hearted strikes with it. So far!
