Although I love these and plan to purchase more of them, there are some practical aspects that should be taken into account. These cubes are made of plastic. So please be mindful of that when disassembling to reassemble in their final shape. I would suggest using just enough pressure to snap together but not enough to break the cube. Also, if purchasing 5 cubes to stack all of them on top of one another, there is no anchor to the wall. So this could potentially be an issue if these are going in a young child’s room. In that case, stacking no more than two should be considered as well as the weight of the contents. I only had one issue with one of the doors of one cube. It wouldn’t shut all the way. I remedied that situation by slightly tilting the door (when closing) inward to go up under the rim. This worked and the doors now shut. I love the storage these provide and their portability. I can easily move them to change the look of the room. I look forward to purchasing more of these. Also, my box didn’t come with assembly instructions but, just looking at them and you will notice that assembly is easy. There’s a video to watch if you plan on ordering as well. ... show more

If you are used to putting things together, setup is easy. Although it did not come with instructions. I also think that removing the piece that fits into the lip of the lid & snapping it on the top first, makes attaching the top much easier. I have 1 container holding a bunch of cans and another holding mason jars and it is easy to open the doors. I do have to put a little muscle into reclosing them but they are not too bad. I wanted a way to store out of season clothes in the upper shelves of my closet. These are the right dimensions and seemed like they would be lightweight enough to be easy to get up and down. And, the see-through plastic window on the door allows you to see what is in each one and access items from the door rather than going to the effort of pulling the whole bin down. For what they are, they do a fine job. In my case, they will sit on a shelf and hold clothes so they are sturdy enough for my needs. I ordered the 5 pack and received all five the next day. The box was intact and the bins had no damage. However, one of the 5 was missing the wheels on the bottom. I contacted Amazon and the only option is to send all 5 back and get a replacement set. (The wheels, by the way, slide the bins side-to-side. They do not roll for sliding front to back which is good if, like me, you have them on shelves because rolling off the shelf and onto someone's head would not be a good thing.) So, if you receive one of the bins without wheels your options are to keep the set and live with one wheelless bin or send the whole lot back and hope the replacement set sent to you has all the wheels. I decided the wheels were not a big enough deal to me to make it worth while to return the set and try to get another one. All-in-all I am pretty pleased with this purchase. I initially bought a 4 pack hoping to clean up a cluttered floor a little bit & they were fantastic! I only have a little space to store a lot of things so being able to stack them & be sturdy is great! I saw ideas from others to put little shelves or storage bins inside them to keep things inside tidy & that helped make even more space to put extra things in! When customers pay more, they expect more. They anticipate solidity, they expect the product to standout above similar, much less expensive offerings. Although the unit is smartly designed for shipping, it turned out to be surprisingly flimsy. They doors have to be gently warped into place. The touted wood handles don't line up. The included wheels or casters (mistakenly called pulleys in the ad copy) are a bad joke. Each turns out to be a tiny, rolling-pin shaped device hardly larger in diameter than a fat pencil. Sales literature shows the units stuffed with books. In real life, the floors of compartments start to sag under weight of books. One photo shows a girl sitting on a couple of compartments packed with books. If she sat on mine, she'd collapse on her butt. It's unclear if inserts can lock together without lids, thereby enhancing rigidity. In other words, can each compartment lock to those above and below without intervening lids? At first blush, appearances suggest they might, but in practice, the plastic tabs and slots don't quite line up. Retail pricing works out to $50 per insert. Even a sale price of $30 per compartment is grossly overpriced for the quality involved. $10-15 is more in line with competitive prices, say $50-75 for a stack of five. We have a lot of bathroom items and keep moving into places with hardly any bathroom storage. Our most recent move is the absolute worst as there is no bathroom storage at all—and barely any counter room—even with two bathrooms. So, I checked Amazon for a solution, and it had to be large enough for our stuff. These are working perfectly. The tower of containers do shake when I open or close one sometimes. It depends on how hard I need to pull/push. It never topples though. Fortunately, none came broken. It looks very nice for plastic containers. And the next time we move, we can just wrap the tower with bubble wrap and transport it as a unit. I did end up only needing five for our bathroom items, so the extra went to my husband’s hobby table for storage there. ... show more
