  • Works great
Style: Lace-Up, Shoe/Work Boot Metatarsal &...
These are great, they weren't too difficult to figure out how to put on. The button snap is the only negative, they're the kind that work great until they break all at once with no warning. Luckily the design is done well enough that you could just use a string or whatever you have to loop around. The price is great, and they save my feet from heavy steel sheets falling. They work great for welding, grinder sparks; my boot laces seem to be holding up very well with these on. If you don't want to spend big money on metatarsal boots or just need a specific kind of boot to wear, then these are a great option. ... show more

  • Really nice product, but the elastic bands are questionable
I like the product. They fit my boots well but I would get the ones that you have to put the laces of your boots through rather than the elastic bands. I had the version with elastic bands but I returned them and switched it out with the other version. I was afraid the bands would get very loose very quickly because they were being stretched constantly so the life on them is questionable. The elastic bands also squeezed my boots which probably wasn't good for the leather. All in all good product, but don't use the elastic bands. The version that attaches directly to the laces without the use of an elastic band seem to be more gentle on boots while being just as secure. If you don't know how to weave your laces through them, there's a couple videos on YouTube. ... show more

  • The front part keeps flipping up, but I fixed it
Style: Lace-Up, Shoe/Work Boot Metatarsal &...
These are strong, and can take a beating for sure, but the attachment method needs fixing or modifying to work correctly. I used some short bungee cords to hold them down on the included holes and they went from annoying to awesome. I noticed some of the pictures don't include the holes, so they must have gotten feedback and included them for exactly this reason. It would have been nice if a strap or other attachment to the connection points were included. If you can get some short bungee cords and do what I did, then they are well worth it. Otherwise they aren't. ... show more

  • Great fit, strong material
Style: Lace-Up, Shoe/Work Boot Metatarsal &...
Steel toe work boots with these attached are probably the safest easiest measure to protect yourself while using a chain saw. An ounce of prevention... Very easy to install through the boot laces

  • It's only as good as what you expect out of it.
Style: Lace-Up, Shoe/Work Boot Metatarsal &...
The first big thing I noticed about these protectors are that they basically thick, hard plastic. I think they are perhaps better for deflecting objects off them and down onto the boots you would be wearing (which I would presume would be steel-toed). I certainly wouldn't want them to take the brunt of a blow to my feet. The ridged designs in the plastic on the lower half of the protector, though, seem to suggest the designers don't want objects coming into contact with the protector to slide off onto the toes. I suppose they would be quite good for protecting from impacts of lighter objects but if you are like me where you work in an environment where objects can weigh hundreds to thousands of pounds, I doubt the strength of thick, hard plastic protectors to protect my metatarsals. I have noticed some people have made the complaint the middle hinge connecting the two pieces of the protector sometimes comes undone. This hasn't happened to me but it seems this is more a concern if your boots are fairly flexible (in the area underneath the protectors) and you haven't adequately secured the protector to your shoe laces. These protectors could be problematic for some people. The protectors are secured to the boot with the use of your shoelaces in only two places: at the very top and the very bottom. This is both a good and bad thing, as I have observed. This leaves the underside of the protector free-floating through the entirety of the middle section. This allows for some degree of flexibility of the laces and the boot which might be otherwise restricted, being suffocatingly bound to the protector. The downside is that the protector will move around in ways you do not intend and do not want unless you ensure your laces are quite tightly wound. What I don't like there is that when I have to tighten my laces too tightly, it constricts the movement of my feet in the boot (making for much sorer feet at the end of the day). This may or may not be an issue for you but it is something to consider when considering whether protectors like these are worth buying. ... show more

  • Effective
I wear these on my boots 5-6 nights a week at Alro Steel. They require metguards and I require a specific kind of boot so I got these. So far my foot hasn’t been crushed. They can be a pain to put on because of the way the hinge is but once you do it a couple times it isn’t bad. It takes a little bit to get used to the straps. They put a bit of pressure on the tops of my feet before they got “broken it”. A week or two of that and now I don’t notice them. I had to bend the hooks of the straps over to make them stay in the holes. The straps are of good quality and design. They get HEAVY use from me and barely show the slightest sign of wear. The leather on my boots is in worse shape than the strap. I definitely recommend these to anyone who needs a solid metguard. ... show more

  • Over priced low quality
Style: Lace-Up, Shoe/Work Boot Metatarsal &...
I bought these for my husband because his work safety shoe policy changed at his job. He needed a metarsal guard. We opened the box that we received to find the hinge piece was already cracked on one of them. I am not returning these because he needs them right now. These are very poor quality for the price i paid for them. ... show more
