  • For the price well worth it
Let me start by saying this is a wonderful product. I purchased this turbo to put on my 97 Audi A4 Quattro. It shipped to my home with in 4 days. The installation Itself went very smooth, only took a few hours. This may have been because I had the whole front end off while I did a timing belt, water pump, turbo and FMIC. Even when I did my turbo install the second time it took less than 3 hours by my self. Either way this part was a direct fit and bolted up with ease. After installation the car ran great for about 300 miles and then one day I got in it and it was just not running right and smoking so I thought I blew the turbo. So I called the Stigan company talked to a representative (who was wonderful I wish I remembered her name to shout her out) with in 2 days I had a brand new turbo at my door. That same day I put the new turbo in started the car still had the same issue. I then realized I had a bad Maf swapped it out and the car ran great. In the process I realized I probably didn’t even blow the original one up. As of now I have about 600 miles on this new turbo with no issues. My car is currently running on a stock tune. The car does have a number of supporting modes though. This list includes 3” catless down pipe, Rks Diverter valve, CX front mount, a silicone turbo inlet and a few more random things. The car runs great and the boost kicks in quickly. This is a great upgrade for someone who has a worn out turbo like I did. I will add more to this review in a few months after the turbo has about 3,000 miles on it and I put my GIAC PC16 Tune on. I’ll let you know how it does after get to push it a lot more so far though a great product!!! *Update have put 10,000miles on this thing and it’s still boosting no issues. About 1000 miles ago I added my pc16 tune and clutch upgrade I’m hitting 18psi before 3k you really feel the pull in the car now **** Update part 2 I’m at 20,000 miles now with the tuned set up of me just BEATING on this thing and I’m still boosting great ... show more

  • So far so good
It's only been about 10 days since I installed it but running very well. Very good improvement on power versus my old K03s turbo that started to have a waste gate leak. Still a stock tune though I'm running straight through "test pipe" and removed the cat. There is no emissions cert required where I live and the test pipe should help with flow and an additional 10-15 HP on top of the upgraded K04 style turbo upgrade. It sure does pull like a 1.8t 225 HP TT Quattro I once had. 12/20/23 - Still working well off stock tune. Hope to get a tune on it, maybe beginning of next year. ... show more

  • Terrible Customer Service
I purchased this turbo and within a couple of hours, a 5% discount was offered from the seller for the listed K04 turbo. They refused to give me the 5% discount after I had purchases only a couple of hours earlier. We're talking $15.XX or so, but it is the principle of the situation. Now, I am just going to return the turbo and buy again at the discounted price, which is going to cost them way more than $15.XX and ding their returns. This is not an effective way to operate, Stigan. I buy turbos dozens of times a month for various projects. This is our first interaction with Stigan, and will most likely be the last, unless they choose to make it right. ... show more

  • Great turbo cant wait to buy supporting mods!
Great price for a great turbo! Installed this as the base to my slight build of my 1.8t in my passat and to fix the chattering Wastegate from the worn out ko3. Install was super easy if you are mechanically inclined. Took me about 4 hours with the help of a friend. Make sure to get about 4 extra crush washers. The coolant return line from the turbo bolts to the block, it's easier to remove the banjo bolt from the block and take of hose off with the turbo instead of trying to take the banjo bolt off at the turbo as there is a small bolt that holds that banjo bolt on and is inaccesible with the turbo on the car you will see what I mean when you do it. Overall this turbo is great, spools fast, sounds mean (I have a silicone turbo inlet pipe and cone filter with heat shield) and makes full boost (8psi) on a stock ko3 program. So YES you can swap this turbo in and run it on a stock tune but a k04 tune and supporting mods would be way better. Only problem I'm having is I think my catalytic converter is restricting the exhaust flow (it's partially melted or clogged or something) and putting my ecu into limp mode. I'm only making 5psi and the ecu is requesting more boost than it's actually getting. I'll report back once I find the problem. Edit: after replacing the hoses to the N75 valve and backing off the tension of my diverter valve spring, along with a host of other tests, the problem has been solved! This turbo now spikes at about 10-12psi then drops to about 8-9psi and holds steady all the way to redline! Love this little turbo ... show more
