While shopping for some nice new earrings I came across these and thought they would be a good purchase, as they are advertised as both 925 sterling silver and nickel free. Once I received them I cleaned them off with some rubbing alcohol, as well as cleaned my ears, before putting them on. I have tried some other jewelry in the past and found that typically after a few days there was some sort of issue, but didn’t notice anything with these within that duration of time. After wearing these every day for a month and a half I began to feel some discomfort from my ears. I thought that maybe I had just bumped them while showering and drying my hair, so repositioned them a little bit. A few hours later I noticed that not only had the discomfort not gone away, but my ears were now experiencing some pain too. I took the earrings out of my ears and noticed that the posts on these earrings were turning black, which should not happen with sterling silver. My ears were inflamed and took a few days and quite a few cleanings with no earrings in to heal. The earrings were looked over for the silver stamp, which is typically put onto jewelry made of precious metals, but one could not be found. I’m not certain what the bulk of the earring is made from, but the posts do not seem to be made from sterling silver, based on the amount of tarnish. The associated image is the earring that was the more tarnished post than the other; however, the cell phone camera wasn’t able to take the best of pictures to fully represent just how bad it looked in person. EDITED 01/04/2018 Lovve does have good customer service, as they sent us a replacement pair at no charge and offered their idea as to what could have caused the tarnish. UPDATED 03/04/2018 - Changed rating from 2 to 1; added image with both earrings. I really wanted these earrings to work for me, but I was hesitant to try the replacement earrings that were sent. Reluctantly I put them in on February 7, 2018, cleaning them with nothing more than hand soap and water, as the replacement included a note saying that it's possible that the cleaner used was too harsh. The original pair was cleaned using 91% isopropyl rubbing alcohol. The second set of these earrings were worn daily until March 3, 2018, when I felt a slight discomfort, so I took them out to examine them. Sure enough, the part of the stem/post that has been in the ear was starting to turn black. I took out the rubbing alcohol to see if they could be cleaned up and the image with both earrings is the result of that cleaning. The earrings still have a discoloration where they were turning black. At the time of the original purchase of these earrings I purchased "STUNNING FLAME" 18K Gold Plated Silver Brilliant Cut Simulated Diamond CZ Stud Earrings, 0.9ct , which are 925 sterling silver earrings, and they have not had any tarnish. The only discomfort I have experienced from the other brand earrings has actually been a result of these LOVVE earrings causing an infection. If you have sensitive ears, then these LOVVE earrings are something that you should pass on. I have changed the rating from 2 to 1 since I feel that the review should be reflective of the actual product and not necessarily include those that make and/or distribute them. I have always worn yellow gold but my fiance got my engagement ring in white gold. Being anal retentive I wanted to wear all my jewelry in the same color I was unsure how I would feel about it so I opted for the less expensive silver. To my surprise I really liked these earrings. Perfect size ,easy to close the catch, looks great. I'm transitioning to white gold but I'm happy I tried using silver first. Excellent choice for every day ... show more

I ordered a pair of the 30mm earrings after 6pm Friday and received them by 11 am Monday. The size and finish were as described. The latches were much thinner than the latches on other earrings I have, and I have doubts about the way they would hold up in use. I never managed to try them on because the gap was much too small to allow me to get the earrings on. The photo I've added shows one of these earrings (right) and a different one I have (left); the gap on the left hand pair is what I regard as normal, these earrings have a gap around half that size. These earrings are beautiful! I have short hair but do not overly large hoops. These are perfect! Light enough that I hardly know that I am wearing them. I really like these earrings. They can be worn for everyday or dressy occasions. I was hoping they would've been a bit thinner but not a problem. I also like that they don't irritate my ears as some others with cheap posts have done. Recommend.
