  • Small Package! High Quality! Rugged!
Style: 10x26 Pattern: Binoculars
I suppose you could say that I’ve been a “binocular-aholic”; I’ve owned a dozen different types and brands. My goal has been two-fold. First to have them be small enough (and rugged enough) to have them with me most of the time when I’m out. Second, I need them to be strong (and clear enough!) so that I can see the DETAILS of wildlife, or a boat, or a group of people in the distance. I even tried the Leica version once, seeking their high quality optics. But, alas, they had to be sent back: too fragile! On the other hand, these Steiner glasses (for about a hundred bucks), are STRONG, SMALL, and RUGGED! I am very happy with them. ... show more

  • I can see clearly now
Style: 10x26 Pattern: Binoculars
I spend time looking at wildlife in the Monterey Bay/Big Sur area and I decided I needed a decent pair of lightweight binoculars. Wow. These are amazing - super light and easy to focus in to accommodate my astigmatism in one eye. Such clarity and wonderful bokeh. I can't imagine using any other binoculars. Definitely worth the premium price. ... show more

  • Good choice for casual viewing and travel.
Style: 10x26 Pattern: Binoculars
Very clear vision, light weight and perfect for travel. Just back from the Cinque Terre and this model Steiner did the job. While on the ferry going from village to village we could clearly see - in sharp detail the shoreline and the villages. Standing on the ground looking up at the Tower of Pisa...clear as a bell with excellent detail. No prism edging just clear vision. No stabilizer nor auto focus just a simple good pair of light weight 10x26 binoculars. Our goal was to keep the bulk and weight down in our shoulder / tote bag. If you plan to study objects through a pair of binoculars for an extended period of time these are not for you. If you want an inexpensive no frills travel binocular with good optics this model is a good choice. I read many reviews on Amazon before the purchase. We did not notice any of the "Cons" listed in some of the reviews. That said, those reviewers seemed to desire higher end binoculars for advanced viewing. I've used the $1K and up optics and wow those are amazing but to heavy and way too much risk for travel. ... show more

  • Great value
Style: 10x26 Pattern: Binoculars
I have several Stiener binoculars for boating. I purchased these for my wife's birdwatching and kayaking. Very light and very sharp, easy focusing. Great value for real quality optics. Great compact binoculars for way more than just birdwatching!

  • Excellent
Style: 10x26 Pattern: Binoculars
Small and compact, they feel like a bigger pair of binoculars than they are given the excellent optics and clarity.

  • Nice Pair of Quality Binoculars
Style: 10x26 Pattern: Binoculars
Perfect for hikes when you don't want to carry a heavier pair of binoculars.

  • Finally a nice small set
Style: 10x26 Pattern: Binoculars
Light weight, smooth adjustments, great sharp image, great value. And not made in that C word country not to memtion the great warranty. Love these glasses. For bow hunting tho i need an 8x set so guess what, I'll order myself a set of those as well. Love Steiner and i will stay with them. I have a set of Zeiss that are great but the rubber eye cups dry rotted off and its a bear trying to communicate with them. They were suppose to send me some replacements but that never happened. Bye bye Ziess, hello Steiner. ... show more

  • Quality materials, POOR execution!
Style: 10x26 Pattern: Binoculars
I bought these last June and I've literally used them 5 days a week since. Believe me; I've come to regret my purchase, many times. I had a compact binocular made by Nikon for more than 20 years, but my car was burglarized in Phoenix and they were stolen. I replaced the stolen binocular with another Nikon; of course, they cost more than double the original price. The new Nikon were lacking in every respect, so, I replaced those with the Steiner model 2212. The left monocular is perfectly clear, even at the edges and it has a good depth of field at all distances. Unfortunately, the right monocular is VERY, VERY, VERY BAD. The right monocular is only clear in the center and the depth of field from 10 yards to 300 yards is incredibly shallow, a matter of inches. I must focus the left monocular to match the right monocular at infinity. If I match the focus at any other distance, they will only be in sync, at that distance. After matching the focus of each monocular they do not remain in sync. If I go from 25 yards to 50 yards and back to 25 yards, I must then return to infinity and match the focus of the left and right monocular again. For the price of $180.00 this binocular should work better than a binocular costing far less. I would not make this purchase again. I have, in fact, replaced these with the Hawke Frontier PC 10x25. ... show more
