  • I can see clearly now
Style: 10x26 Pattern: Binoculars
I spend time looking at wildlife in the Monterey Bay/Big Sur area and I decided I needed a decent pair of lightweight binoculars. Wow. These are amazing - super light and easy to focus in to accommodate my astigmatism in one eye. Such clarity and wonderful bokeh. I can't imagine using any other binoculars. Definitely worth the premium price. ... show more

  • Good choice for casual viewing and travel.
Style: 10x26 Pattern: Binoculars
Very clear vision, light weight and perfect for travel. Just back from the Cinque Terre and this model Steiner did the job. While on the ferry going from village to village we could clearly see - in sharp detail the shoreline and the villages. Standing on the ground looking up at the Tower of Pisa...clear as a bell with excellent detail. No prism edging just clear vision. No stabilizer nor auto focus just a simple good pair of light weight 10x26 binoculars. Our goal was to keep the bulk and weight down in our shoulder / tote bag. If you plan to study objects through a pair of binoculars for an extended period of time these are not for you. If you want an inexpensive no frills travel binocular with good optics this model is a good choice. I read many reviews on Amazon before the purchase. We did not notice any of the "Cons" listed in some of the reviews. That said, those reviewers seemed to desire higher end binoculars for advanced viewing. I've used the $1K and up optics and wow those are amazing but to heavy and way too much risk for travel. ... show more

  • Small Package! High Quality! Rugged!
Style: 10x26 Pattern: Binoculars
I suppose you could say that I’ve been a “binocular-aholic”; I’ve owned a dozen different types and brands. My goal has been two-fold. First to have them be small enough (and rugged enough) to have them with me most of the time when I’m out. Second, I need them to be strong (and clear enough!) so that I can see the DETAILS of wildlife, or a boat, or a group of people in the distance. I even tried the Leica version once, seeking their high quality optics. But, alas, they had to be sent back: too fragile! On the other hand, these Steiner glasses (for about a hundred bucks), are STRONG, SMALL, and RUGGED! I am very happy with them. ... show more

  • Solid value, typical Steiner quality of image, in a small package
Style: 10x26 Pattern: Binoculars
I have been a fan of Steiner binoculars for several years. I also own three pairs of Steiner Marine binoculars (two 7x50's with compass/rangefinder, and one 7x30) which have been spectacular, so my frame of reference on judging this baby pair (2212's) is pretty tough. I can not believe the crispness of the image through the 2212's. I just viewed a range of mountains (5 miles away) with a lake in between -- the detail, color and crispness were great. Can't wait for hunting in a few weeks. Sure….26mm image width is smaller than which I am accustomed, but I did want a very compact pair for hunting/hiking. These fit the bill beautifully. I plan to buy another pair or two as Xmas gifts this Fall. How Steiner achieves this clarity at 10X in this compact a device is remarkable. ... show more

  • Clarity! No distortion! Handy size! Super hero visual powers!
Style: 10x26 Pattern: Binoculars
I have several pairs of binoculars, but upon realizing that I needed the convenience of a more compact pair, I did a lot of research and testing before choosing these 10x26 Steiner Safari binoculars. My other binoculars are 6x30, 8x30 and 10x50 in porro prism form. This is my first pair of roof prism binoculars. They are easy to adjust, eyeglass friendly and feel sturdy in hand. I am very pleased with these Steiners. They provide great clarity at all the various distances which I have used them for. From bird watching or attending a recent ZZ Top concert, (in the nosebleed seats) the smaller size allows one to carry them everywhere without it being quite obvious to the public that you are a binocular geek. Tuck them in a pocket or bag and no one will know that with your 10x26 binoculars you can see really far away things up close...kind of like having super hero powers...only different. ... show more

  • Bought for my wife but . . .
Style: 10x26 Pattern: Binoculars
. . . I’m keeping them myself. Bought myself the Nikon Trail Blazer’s & the Steiner’s for my wife. Needed small ultra lights for an Africa trip next year. I’m a Nikon fan boy & I gotta tell you I sent the Nikons back. These Steiner’s had more precise focus fixed well designed eye cups. The Nikons were the twist out type too loose to hold position. The eye relief on the Steiner’s much better. I may let her use my, er her, new Steiner mini’s. ... show more
