  • Outstanding Binoculars with really clear glass and great field of view.
Style: 7x50
I wanted a better pair of binoculars than the old Bushnell's that I've had for awhile. Decided to get the Steiner 7x50 Military Marine model seeing as they were the civilian version of the tried and true military issued ones. The binoculars are large but do not disappoint. Right away, I could tell they were of quality and heavy duty. The glass is extremely clear, and each of the lenses can be focused to the the individual users eyesight. Great binoculars and would highly recommend. If you were prior service, it also adds a good bit of nostalgia. ... show more

  • Compare these to 8X30 and 10X50 Steiner Military Marine models
Style: 7x50
I have had a pair of the Steiner 8X30 Military Marine for years and love them, they are terrific, lightweight, compact and sharp in daylight but the small objectives are not ideal for night time or astronomy viewing, you will get some ghostly halos from bright objects in the night. But if you are planning on hiking or biking with binocs then you should probably choose the compact version over these 7X50 full size ones which are twice as big and heavy. I purchased both the 7X50 and the 10X50 to compare primarily for quick viewing of the night sky in conjunction with our telescope. I chose to keep the 7X50 and returned the 10X50. There are good reasons why 7X50 is the marine standard. The 10X magnification does not make much difference, the 7X seemed noticeably clearer and is much easier to hold steady which is more important to good viewing than the magnification. The image is super sharp and bright from edge to edge of the view, IMHO it really could not be appreciably better at any price point. Unless you're going into combat or the most brutal conditions these are as good as you will ever need. We now keep these full size binocs in our RV for our general primary and astronomical use and the compact 8X30 under the seat in our towed car for our mobile expeditions. The best of all viewing worlds! ... show more

  • Well worth the money if used during the hours of daylight.
Style: 8x30
I bought these to replace an older pair if cheaper binos. My experience with Steiner optics came from using them in the Army. They are well built and for the cost they work very well, however they are not MILSPEC. With that said, the image quality is very good, they gather light well in lowlight conditions, however when a another light source enters the field of view, such as an aircraft or a set of car headlights, the distortion created blurs the field of vision badly. My actual MILSPEC Steiner's don't have that happen. And my Kowa's, Vortex's and Swarovski's don't do that either, but in the light of day they are very, very good. ... show more

  • Incredible vision at 250+ yards!
Style: 7x50
These Steiner binos are just Amazing! I wonder why did I cheat myself all these years! Now I finally can see clear as a bell at 300 yards. Even at 400 yards on negative 2. I returned the 200 dollar big name binos I bought last weekend in town. I found these Steiner binos were just 50 dollars more. What a deal! I thought I was going to have to pay $1,200.00 to see like this. Not me! Thanks Amazon & Steiner! Got them in 3 days too! ... show more

  • Good buy if we want something quality that is made outside of China
Style: 8x30
This review will mostly be for folks that wear glasses. These are marketed as having eye relief to allow use by folks who wear glasses, 20mm according to google. You have to fold the rubber cups around the eye pieces but if you do they can work for us. The experience could be better though as it often feels like you spend a lot of time "searching" for a good view through the binoculars, even after you get them adjusted. I am nearsighted with one eye a fair bit worse than the other, so it may be a me problem. They are usable though and even more so if you can sit with your elbows on your knees. The adjustments all have a nice friction to them that seems to hold everything in place and are marked so you can return them to your settings if you let someone else use them. I think the magnification / fov is perfect if you are looking for something to use in the woods for hunting, bird watching, or for general use. If you are getting them with the idea of looking at targets at 100 yards and farther, I would go with something with a higher magnification. The case and strap that come with them are very cheap but the binoculars themselves feel solid. I would recommend them without hesitation. If you are looking for alternatives, Meopta also made some that I considered but were a bit more costly. ... show more

  • Great glass .. highly recommend
Style: 8x30
My second pair of auto focus Steiner Binoculars. Both are very nice. Very clear .. eye relief is forgiving .. tough as nails .. my first pair has been on many hunting trips including Alaska, Colorado .. in terrible weather performed like a champ and the rubber finish kept them looking like new. I use them when stargazing as well .. that’s how clear and aberration free they are .. as they say β€œget you some” ... show more

  • Crystal Clear, sharp image
Style: 7x50
These optics are perfect for boating. The image is crystal clear sharp no prism effect. When I compared the side-by-side image with my 25 year old binoculars, it was amazing how much I’ve been missing out on.
