I had tried a Corsair keyboard that said it was quiet but it wasn't so I decided to give this one a try and it did not disappoint. I love how quiet it is but I can feel the actuation of the key just fine. I like the cusomization of the RGB. However I don't like that I had to install yet another piece of software that adds to startup time for it to work. I'll have to look and see if it has hardware profiles so I can save the color I want on the keyboard itself so I don't have to run the steelseries software at startup. It's not a huge impact on startup time. I just don't like watching the keyboard strobe as I wait for it to load. The customization options are adequate and the ability to save macros is nice. However they are all the way on the right of the keyboard so if you were to use them in games and are using the mouse to look around you'd have to take your hand off the mouse to hit the macro key. It could be cumbersome for some applications. ... show more

I am a fan of SteelSeries products, having used SteelSeries headsets and mice for some time now. When I saw their TKL mechanical keyboard on sale, I snagged it since I prefer a TKL setup and wanted to get a SteelSeries keyboard anyway. Works great, feels great, has the full RGB functionality. I haven't used the media buttons yet. I'd love to get a SteelSeries speaker set to complete the collection but those are $$$ ... show more

One of the top featured reviews has many false claims about this keyboard, some drawbacks for sure but it has very good value for the price: - The software SteelSeries GG is required for changing RGB colors and key layout, but you are NOT required to create an account. Just hit skip when opening the software up for the first time and go to Engine to change settings. - The software is REQUIRED to run in the background for your settings to stick. It won't close out completely until you right click the taskbar icon -> Exit. It won't take up much resource so I wouldn't worry much. - There are macro key numbers labeled (M1-M6) but you cannot assign macro functions to an existing key without it losing its original value (For example, if you assign a macro to the DEL key, it won't delete anymore even if the SteelSeries key held down or not). - Dedicated SteelSeries Function key can only be used to change light mode and increase/decrease keyboard brightness level. - Keys are very quiet and decently tactile. You definitely won't type as fast compared to a mechanical keyboard but this is good for office work and gaming. - Build quality is very nice for the price, it is (I believe) plastic but very sturdy and high quality while not being too heavy. ... show more

Have been using it for over 6 months and still love it. Lighting is highly customizable too. Sounds awesome to type on. Overall very satisfied. There's a volume scroll wheel that doesn't always work though it's very convenient when it does. If it stops working you can uninstall the keyboard software and device and reinstall and it will work but for how long? idk. A sturdy 9/10 in my book. ... show more

i got this keyboard due to limited desk space and not using the number pad very often. While i do miss the numpad from time to time, the amount of space it added to my mouse area is surprisingly significant, and while i was skeptical for the first couple weeks i now know it was a good choice.

I have used many keyboards in my 30 years of computing. From buckling springs, to scissor switches, to membrane, to Cherry MX. For the money, this keyboard is difficult to top. It does everything I need it to do, at a similar action to mechanical. Key presses are crisp. The smaller size of the tenkeyless is perfect. The volume control is a nice addition. If you are looking for a quiet keyboard with RGB, a keyboard that "feels" mechanical but maybe you don't want to spend the $$...give this a try. I do not think you will regret it. ... show more

Small and soft. I hate the number pad so I like this. Glows in the dark. Immediately. Automatically. Good price. Love it so far day one. Only thing I will say is - it's difficult to figure out how to screenshot. I still don't know how to screenshot right now. Regardless I will still give it a 5 star rating. I would give it a 4.9 review if I could. But I won't because that makes me sound like a salty boomer. Heh. ... show more
