  • Not sure I like this
Size: 10 Gram Jar Color: Silver Pearl Sparkle
I bought this (my first time with mica powder) thinking I'd mix it with paint or glue or whatever to make my coloring book pages shine. And yeah, this stuff is shiny! But it is so fine it FLOATS out of the jar and gets all over everything. It was packaged for shipping without ANY cushioning!! So, even though the jar was sealed with shrink wrap, the mica powder was seeping out and covered my fingers as I opened it. I'm so concerned about breathing it in accidently, I'm half afraid to use it. I had thought I could save myself a lot of money by making my own shiny paints and watercolors, but I'm not sure I'll ever try it and have considered returning it. It has made me decide against buying any other colors of mica powder because I don't intend to use it for any of the purposes most people would use it. I can't just rub it on the paper--it comes off. BUT that doesn't mean it won't work great for somebody using it correctly! ... show more

  • Reasonable color but more pink and not maroon, merlot, or burgundy
This color is described in the product title as "maroon, merlot, an burgundy", but it is more pink than purple. I would describe it as an, "earthy cosmetic pink". In the package the color sparkles richly, but I used 1.5 teaspoons of this in 1000 grams (2.2 pounds) of almond colored soap and got the earthy pink color, not maroon. Yes I could have used more to get a more intense color, but it still would not have been maroon. I plan to buy the purple color from the same manufacturer and blend that in to achieve more of a true maroon. The color on the label is described as "Moody Mauve", and after looking at some mauve color samples, that is a better description of this product than maroon, merlot, or burgundy. ... show more

  • Overall Happy. 4.2 stars
Size: 10 Gram Jar Color: Truly Red
I like this mica powder pigment overall. I bought it because I have several "reds" that just aren't truly red. This 'true red' pigment is miles better than the others I have tried. That said, it definitely isn't as red as I expected it to be. It takes quite a bit of pigment to be really bright and pigmented, and it is more light ans more opaque-like than I was aiming for. I was able to get a closer true red pigment by adding one or two drops of black alcohol ink. That darkens it up a bit and also removes the opaqueness. I will continue my hunt for a very true red, but in the mean time I am overall happy with this purchase, especially for the price. :) 4.2 stars! ... show more

  • Amazing pigments
Size: 36 Gram Jar Color: Tail Green
I have used these pigments for a few years and I'm always impressed with the quality. The amount in the jars is by weight so it is very common that some colors will look like they don't have as much in them, however I use the pigments based on weight and not volume in my artwork and they always weigh correctly. I mention this since many people have felt they were shorted in other reviews but they provided no proof. My artwork is used with direct skin contact and no one has ever reported any issues. ... show more

  • Brilliant color - but doesn't mix well with resin
Size: 10 Gram Jar Color: Orange Magma
I bought both the neon orange and hot pink pigments because my friend wanted stuff in orange and hot pink. These colors are BRIGHT! But geez, I really had difficulty getting the powder mixed into the resin. Stirred vigorously, which you generally don't want to do. Did it again. And again. And still had little clumps of mica in the finished pieces. They are still curing; I'll update with a photo in a day or two. ... show more

  • GORGEOUS
Size: 10 Gram Jar Color: Sterling Silver
The media could not be loaded. I have been waiting a long time to paint my Storybook version, TIN MAN! I am soooooooo happy with this sterling silver I am giddy! I also used a few of Stardust’s Metallic colors from their metallic sets- one being brown sugar to get the “rust” effect. I’ve always loved Stardust and will CONTINUE to support them! *note- when painting on bath bombs with THIS particular color, you might want to mix a wee bit of polysorbate 80 with your isopropyl alcohol. It’s very deep in color, if that makes sense, which is PERFECT! Little goes a long way! HIGHLY recommend this silver if you’re needing a good rich and deep sterling silver. ... show more
