  • It's Star Trek!
So far I have watched I-IV, and no issues with any of the 4K discs at all. Really great, crisp picture with no film grain, or artifacts of any kind. As reported by many other reviewers, there is the "gassing" residue inside the case, and on the discs. Most people say they have cleaned off the discs using soap/water, then using a micro-fiber cloth. I did not use the soap/water, and simply used a micro-fiber cloth on the discs, and cleaned the case with a napkin. As I said, the first 4 movies all play fine. Another big plus is that Paramount has graciously extended the digital copy expiration date for these to 9/06/24. If anything changes with the other movies and I discover issues, I will edit my review, but for now I am more than satisfied with my purchase. ... show more

  • Newest batch of 4K discs OK (original 4K covered in oily sheen from 4K disc holder trays).
So, the replacement batch of 4K discs is okay. Updated rating accordingly. See below for the first batch. ----- Original review = 1. I may change my rating if the replacement set is okay, but the discs are unplayable as such. Must be either new or old disc holders to be so contaminated. Of course, the discs are covered in it. So, I tried cleaning them with a soft cloth. This help in some instances, and others just got scratched beyond usability. ... show more

  • All original Star Trek movies in one bundle and Blu-ray
All the original trek movies in one place. I signed up for Paramount + for two reasons Picard and Strange New Worlds. The result was perfect for me being a lifelong Science Fiction fan. Sticking to the Blu-ray now. The commentary's on all the movies was spot on. Multiple people (directors and other’s) do the commentary in all the movies. If you are a fan of Star Trek TOS movies it is worth the money. Sadly Paramount + took the original TOS movies off the streaming service and I had to buy the whole collection. I highly recommend.
