  • Comparable to and cheaper than NoseFrida snotsucker
This is the second time purchasing the Baby NäsaKleen nasal aspirator. I have also owned 2 NoseFrida snotsuckers over the years. Overall, they are both effective in removing baby’s snot - especially when combined with a few drops of saline in each nostril. I initially had a slight preference for the NoseFrida, mainly because I had purchased and used that first. I was looking for a cheaper alternative. The tip is softer since it’s made of silicone versus plastic on the NoseFrida. This also comes with a plastic case, whereas the NoseFrida does not. Given the fact that this is about half the price of the NoseFrida and also from a reputable brand, NeilMed, this will be my go to if I ever need another snot sucker. ... show more

  • Works well for baby's first cold!
The 5- starts say that I love it. I'm not sure if that's the right wording for something that makes me dry heave every time I use it. The first time you use it, your baby won't know what happened. The second time, baby will see it coming and start death-rolling like an alligator. Once you've wrested the alligator into submission, you then have to precisely aim for the nostril. This snot sucker is better than others because the tip is soft and you wont accidentally jab your baby alligator in the eye. Once you successfully get the job done, cleaning is easy since the tube unscrews (and holds the filter) and the soft tip is removable. Clean, shake dry, reassemble and repeat. ... show more

  • This is 100% better than the Frida!
I’m a third time mom, I’ve always used the nose frida and it’s been fine. However, I just had a new baby (#3 for me) and unfortunately he got RSV at 4 weeks. He was VERY congested which resulted in him having to go to the childrens hospital for an overnight stay. While we were there the hospital gave us this to help suction his nose and I was literally in shock with how much of a difference the curved nose tip and hard plastic mouth piece made the suctioning. I can’t explain it, I think it just has a better design. It is easy to clean, and my newborn wasn’t nearly as upset as he was with a nose frida or the battery powered suction. I will forever promote this to my parent friends! ... show more

  • Almost Better than Frida Brand
Here is what I love about it. The mouthpiece is removable and comfortable in your mouth. The tube attached to the mouth piece is flexible and more durable than the nose Frida brand. The cap on the tube is a screw on not a push down. And the pice that inserts into the baby's nose is also detachable and soft silicone so it doesn't hurt them. The suction is GREAT. PROBABLY better than the Frida brand. My only issue here is the hole where the boogies are supposed to go is fairly small. If your baby produces some big boogies it most likely won't go in. I've tried to make the hole bigger but it always shrinks back down. Definitely worth the money though and probably the best alternative to the Frida brand. ... show more

  • Works like a charm
Editing since I’ve been using it more. The suction on this works really good! I am able to suction all the boogies out of my 2 month old baby. I love this thing! He doesn’t fuss about it yet, I’m sure as he gets older he will fight it. I like how it comes with a case. The blue filter is like a sponge and holes come prepunched. ... show more

  • Every Mom should have one of these!!
I foster feral cats, kittens and really tiny kittens, only 3-4 days old. One of the babies came into my care with a severe URI. It broke my heart to see her struggling to breathe. She couldn’t nurse from the bottle..try pinching your nose closed and try to eat. I looked for everything to try and help her. This seemed perfect, though I took lots of teasing when it arrived. I administer nasal drops and put her in her little tent with a vaporizer and then when the secretions are liquified I use this apparatus. The description indicated a soft, silicone tip, but it could be softer. When she grows it will be easier since I don’t want to force it. With human babies I would be VERY gentle doing the aspirations. I wish this had been available when my three babies were young. (Regarding the tip; it’s fine for a human baby but tiny kitten’s nostrils are just that! Tiny) ... show more

  • This Thing Sucks! (In a Good Way)
I came across this nasal aspirator at a family/kid expo when I had my first son 5 years ago. We still have that one and it works fine but I chose to get a brand new one for our new baby. All the parts come apart for easy cleaning and it comes in a nice hard case. You can keep it in your diaper bag or leave it at home and the case keeps it nice and clean until you need it. What I like Most: 1. Easy to clean 2. I can control the suction 3. The end that goes into the nose is soft/flexible It's easiest to use with saline spray to loosen up mucous and boogers or after a warm bath/shower. The steam helps. ... show more

  • Absolutely useless
I used this on my baby and even though I sucked multiple times until I couldn’t suck because it had attached itself to the inside of baby’s nostril creating a vacuum, I didn’t get the snot or boogers out. There was negligible amounts of snot. The suction power is weak if you put your finger at the end that goes in the nostril and suck to test. Sure, you don’t want it to be too strong but, this is utterly useless. Why is the tube so long? It makes it so weak and hard to clean. In the end, we used a humidifier and a tissue and got everything out with less fuss. Also, a drop of breast milk or saline also helps stuff come out naturally than this stupid contraption. I contacted NeilMed about this and received no reply. ... show more
