  • Pretty good if you don't expect more than reasonably doable with the material.
Someone else said this is not an air chisel. Bingo! I used these to remove mastic and ~50yr old composite flooring material from hardwood and plywood substrates with my PC reciprocating saw. Tile gone easily even wherein was two layersthick.m, mastic mostly gone but as good as I can expect from this type of tool. Yes I broke two of the three blades but I ran them for about 5 hours each. That is a lot of stress on this type blade material...these are ment to be disposable. I like the idea of reshaping the shaft to extend the useful life. Using on very coarse substrate like damaged or broomed concrete is not advisable. ... show more

  • Not as useful as I'd hoped
We tried using this for a number of different projects already and while the durability seems good so far, the usefulness of it does not. There are better tools still that won't give you the wild kickback and soreness of this thing hitting a hard spot during a job. For tile I would still prefer a long heavy-duty scraper tool instead. They are a thousand times faster and less exhausting than holding this still. The other thing is you can only get so deep under tiles before you have to stop and rip them up by hand or with other tools, they get caught on the power tool. If I could I'd have skipped this attachment and just bought the scraper instead. ... show more

  • Tremendous time-saver!
I ordered this to help me tear out some nasty old carpet in a 180ish sqft sunroom. The carpet was the old cheapo kind with the padding attached, and it was glued down to the floor. I was expecting a total nightmare of a time getting it out, but the 6" scraper made what I thought would literally take all day into a 1 hour project that only required a helper to lift and pull the carpet as I cleared the padding underneath. I may never need to use again it myself, but it's already paid for itself many times over with the amount of headache it's spared me. ... show more

  • Decent but snap at the mount point too easily
I used these to remove rubber/adhesive from carpet squares in my basement. I tore out the squares and went to work with these blades in my reciprocating saw. They stay sharp even being used on the cement floor but they snap at the insert into the saw pretty quickly even after letting them cool a bit. I think the issue is that the blade stays cool but at the mount location that saw part of it that holds the blade gets very hot and with it vibrating back and forth on the concrete floor it makes them break easily. It's a shame because there was so much more life left in the blade itself. Watch how you hold the saw because if you put it at too much of angle at the side with the back end of the saw up too high it kicks back on you and will get your attention plus it can chip the concrete a little. Also, don't press too hard on the saw at a downward angle as that will help to snap it more easily. I was taking a break for 30 seconds after running it for a minute to try and help with the blades snapping...not sure if it helped though. ... show more

  • Not what i was hoping for
I bought these to scrape the carpet off an aluminum deck pontoon. I actually bought the set for the wider scraper because i had a skinny one that seemed to work good. I wanted to give these a better review, however, after using it for only a couple minutes the entire thing was bent from scraping the carpet. It didn't seem to hold up well for my application. Other's that I bought definitely seemed more sturdy and durable. ... show more

  • Dope tool you may only use once in awhile.
Unless you’re a flooring contractor, this may only come in handy once in awhile. I deal with mold and water damage so I’ve used the scraper tool on a reciprocating saw a few times but it was a life saver. I’ve scraped vinyl flooring w glue, tile off floors and walls. Hammer the tile and take your scraper saw to it. It’d prolly work for taking up rotted/moldy tack strip. Be careful about gouging wood floors. Have fun! ... show more
