  • Great Calipers!
Overall, these are great calipers! I tested against several rulers, a measuring tape, and other standards for accuracy. The calipers are always right on the spot for measuring and are very sturdy. I like that the calipers can be locked to keep your measurement. There is also a feature that allows you to measure depth of a depression using the sliding rod that comes from the bottom. This turned out to be a very handy feature! Overall, these are very accurate and seem to be really sturdy as well! It is worth it to mention that they also send a little ruler with the calipers that comes in handy elsewhere. I heavily suggest buying these if you need a standard and reliable pair of calipers. My experience with the digital calipers is that over a short period of time, the digital display messes up and they are basically unusable at that point. That is the main reason I got these. They are sturdy solid metal as well! Far better than any plastic pair. ... show more

  • Decent
Not a Starrett or Mitutoyo. Not trying to be. Just needed something to measure bolts while rebuilding my truck.

  • Best for Transferring Measurements
Although this tool can be used for get accurate measurements, I use it most often to simply transfer a measurement from one aspect of my job to another. The inside measurement is a perfect match to the outside measurement on the other side. I use it tongue & groove work, dados, and more in my woodworking shop. ... show more

  • should have metric and fractions vs metric and thousandths
You won’t use a $10 caliper when accuracy matters, I have other tools for that. This price for a pure analog caliper it is a great deal but the lack of fractions seriously detracts from its usefulness. The graduations must be laser etched, they’re def not just painted, because they shred paper towel used to wipe on a thin coat of oil. I disassembled it, wiped it down and then honed the running surfaces with a piece of a broken knife crock stick that I use for scissors and utility blades. It was pretty nicked up and snagged in places but it’s silky smooth now. If only it had fractions. ... show more

  • It's the okay-est caliper
The caliper is pretty good. There are some nicer aspects missing from it, but overall, it is okay enough for little hand-made projects. The good: Little to no play in the slide. It doesn't have any jiggle, and the measurement stays put. The lines are fine and accurate. I can do my little tinkering projects easily enough. The seller contacted me to warn me that other customers complained about the packaging and to watch out for damages when it arrived, but the box did a good job of protecting it. It was in great shape. The bad: The thumb roller isn't a roller! I laughed when I first unpacked this. It's just a stationary thumb grip. This makes the sliding action less comfortable and easy with one hand. The machining is pretty rough. Overall, if you want it for precision tool work, I would not recommend. But if you're working with wood or small household projects, it's great to have around. ... show more
