  • It does the job
Size: Standard (For Canoes 34" - 40")
Needed a drop-in for a trip to Boundary Waters with an old Grumman 17-foot aluminum canoe. This was virtually the only option I could find anywhere. The ends of the seat clamp down to the gunwales with a screw-type clamp. The seat is fairly lightweight and also fairly easy to take in/out of the canoe. It's a no-frills hard foam seat but that was ok for us. My friend has also used one in his Wenonah Kevlar canoe on several trips with no issues. Price is decent, too. Would love to find something that can be attached/removed even more quickly and simply, but haven't found such a product. All-in-all no complaints and would buy again. ... show more

  • Nice seat
Size: Small (For Canoes 30" - 34")
Easy install. Very sturdy. Not comfortable as the seat padding/foam is like concrete. My son was very uncomfortable after 30 minutes sitting on the padding. I will add better padding in the future. Otherwise it did the job.

  • Your canoe's center of gravity is higher.
Size: Standard (For Canoes 34" - 40")
The seat is simple to install and use. We used it to take a third person on a 7 mile trip to a isolated cabin on an Adirondack lake. Buyers should be aware the canoe's center of gravity will be higher than normal, causing increased instability in wind and waves. This did not present any danger to us as our canoe has excellent secondary stability. It did caused a little stress until we got used to it. Our gear was transported by others. Having done this once, I would have carried some gear as ballast. After about 1.5 hours, our tween granddaughter chose to sit on the floor. The seat made a comfortable backrest. ... show more

  • As advertised, solidly built.
Size: Standard (For Canoes 34" - 40")
Have not floated with it yet, but happy so far. Easy to install and adjustable to any part of the canoe.

  • spring creek seat
Size: Standard (For Canoes 34" - 40")
I put this in the center of a 14" canoe. This was my only option due to the age of the canoe. Although it clamped on, the seat did slide left and right on it's rails. I fixed this by putting two screws through the outer rail. There is no back support so I had to purchase a stadium style seat. Only problem with that was the style I bought would only strap to the foam cushion of the seat. This tended to bend to the rear. I was able to support the foam with a piece of plywood and everything seems good now. The seat is ok, but i'm not sure it will be as "Clamp and go" as the ad insinuates. ... show more

  • Over all, great
Size: Standard (For Canoes 34" - 40")
The best to work with. I shipped this to the wrong address and seller tracked it down and routed it back to me after it was in transit. Product is very nicely made. Great improvement once my seat had broke. Ciuld not have asked for a better experience

  • Coleman canoes require modification for c clamp
Size: Standard (For Canoes 34" - 40")
The c clamps will not fit all canoes. I was able to modify it by cutting the clamp shorter on the inside. Spoke to the mfr and they were very helpful. Bought another yoke model which has a different clamp setup direct from Springcreek also.

  • The perfect seat for my canoe buddy.
Size: Standard (For Canoes 34" - 40")
My 240 lb autistic son used to sit in the front seat. This left me riding higher in the back, making it difficult to steer.. I put the drop in seat in the middle, and it works wonderfully. No passenger complaints.
