  • Exceptional Comfort and Durability – Ideal for Avid Cyclists
Size: Large Color: Upgrade-blue
As a cycle instructor at 24 Hour Fitness, I engage in cycling sessions four or more times a week, demanding high-performance gear. The Sponeed Men's Cycling Shorts have proven to be the most comfortable and durable option I've encountered. The 4D gel padding provides excellent cushioning, ensuring comfort during extended rides. The moisture-wicking fabric keeps me dry, and the breathable material prevents overheating. The elastic waistband and silicone anti-slip bands at the thighs ensure a secure fit without discomfort. The vibrant color options add a stylish touch, and the quality of the material is evident. After more than a year of rigorous use, my initial pairs have only just begun to show signs of wear, which speaks volumes about their durability. I frequently recommend these shorts to participants in my cycling classes, confident in their value and performance. For the price, they offer exceptional quality and comfort. ... show more

  • Very High Quality for the Price, Be Careful on Size
Size: Large Color: Blue
These are very well made cycling shorts. I especially like the type and shape of the padding. I would caution the end user about the sizing. I'm 5' 8" tall and weigh 140 lbs. I have a waist size of 32" with a 30" inseam. (For reference: Wrangler size 32 pants and shorts fit comfortably). My thighs are 20" at their widest, and are about 17" two inches above the knee cap. I originally ordered size M (US) which is L (Asian). I found that while the waist, seat, and padding are fine, the elastic just above the knee cap was very tight. I decided to keep them and I use them for rides of an hour or less. I then ordered a pair in L (US) which is XL (Asian). These are more comfortable around the thigh just above the knee and are much more comfortable to wear for an extended period. The waist and seat still seem to fit ok. There is a slight difference in that the padding is a bit larger than on the smaller size and it is noticeable but not objectionable. I now use the US size M for my regular one hour training rides, but when I go on an extended tour where one would be on and off the bike most of the day, I'll wear the US size L. One can sit for an hour or two off the bike and not feel like your lower legs are going to go to sleep. Not sure if the smaller pair will eventually stretch out. I have washed both pairs a couple of times and the tight ones have loosened very slightly, but are still very snug near the knee. But overall, I think these Sponeed cycling shorts are an excellent value. I would recommend them to anyone, with the caveats noted. ... show more

  • Big fan
Size: X-Large Color: Upgrade-grey
Swore I would never wear skin tight cycling shorts.... but here we are. Normally wear loose fitting MTB shorts and padded liner undies. With a Brooks saddle on my steel touring/gravel bike, that's been working well for a long time. But right around the 40-50 mile mark, my butt is usually OVER IT. So I hung my head in shame and ordered a pair of the upgraded pad shorts from this company and then also a pair of "bikewa" brand shorts. The bikewa shorts have the same style pad as my liner shorts. Soft but easily compressed. The sponeed shorts (upgrade version) are firmer and don't squish down as easily. Was out on a weekend bike camping trip a couple weeks ago and after 60 miles I was still in pretty good shape down there. Was wishing my campsite was further because I just wanted to keep pedaling. So yeah, they are pretty comfy. You may need to size up. I wear 36-in waist pants. I think that would normally put me in the large category. After reading some reviews I decided to order the extra large and I'm glad I did. They fit just right. My only complaint is that they are UGLY. I could understand if they were Rapha shorts, maybe you wouldn't mind having a big logo on the side of them so you could flex how much money you spent on them. But what the heck is a sponeed. Not a big fan of the budget Amazon brand name in big letters on the side of them. Wish they were just a solid color, with maybe a couple little reflective doodads. ... show more

  • Great value. Thickly padded.
Size: Medium Color: Gray
I purchased these shorts for road biking. I ride several times each week, typically for about 15 miles. The shorts arrived in a ziplock plastic bag. The padding between the wearer and the bike seat is thicker than any other cycling shorts I've purchased, but since it's in multiple sections rather than a single large molded piece, the shorts flex easily and the padding fits well. If you're looking for bike shorts with a lot of padding to improve seating comfort, these would be a good choice. For the length and intensity of my typical rides, it's more padding than I need. If I was on a longer route with less intensity, I'd probably choose these shorts over my more expensive ones due to the thicker padding. The padding at the front and in between the gel pads is thinner and perforated, presumably for better ventilation. The padding does cause the shorts to bunch up somewhat oddly on my body when I'm just standing, but I bought these shorts for riding and in a riding position they're fine. The waist on these shorts is an inch or two higher than all the other cycling shorts I own. I'd prefer it to be a little lower, but I don't notice the higher waist when I'm riding. The elastic at the waist fits me well, and no drawstring is present (or needed) for me. Grippers at the bottom of the legs work well. The shorts don't ride up on me when I'm wearing them. After a couple rides, the surface of the fabric has become slightly shiny at the highest pressure contact points. This leads me to wonder a bit about the durability of the fabric. We'll see how they hold up with more riding time. Overall, these padding cycling shorts are a great value. While I'd prefer graphics that aren't so prominent, they don't bother me too much. If the shorts hold up for a few years for me, I'll be very satisfied with them. My five-star rating is based on the design, features, quality and value of the product. ... show more
