The sperti sunlamp has become part of my post shower routine and I couldn't be happier, LITERALLY. Yes, it's expensive...BUT not when you compare to the cost and inconvenience of the alternative of going to a sun tanning salon. This unit packs the power of commercial tanning lights without taking up the space of a tanning bed. It is made of solid, almost entirely steel body, stand, and protective grid. It comes with power cord, two pairs of eye protection, and a guide that gives excellent advice on your exposure schedule. I don't like the idea of using chemicals or skin products meant to help tan, or preserve the length your tan will last. My routine is to shower, towel off, put on the eye protection, set the timer, sit on a pillow in front of the lamp and turn ON the switch. After a few minutes I just spin around to my sides and back, before standing up get my legs, front and back. I opted to start with very short sessions, knowing I wouldn't see any tanning. But the effects on my mood were immediate. The light activates your body's ability to generate natural vitamin D which has helped my mood. Some people take D3 supplements, but most of that is excreted and never absorbed. With the sperti lamp, your own body creates the vitamin D and absorbs it. It helps me maintain a better mood. After 3 about 4 weeks of use (skipping days and short sessions), I am no longer pale with a slight tan and a big smile. ... show more

I’m so glad I treated myself for my birthday with this sun lamp. I have psoriasis, and UV rays have always been the most helpful thing for me. This lamp is portable - as you see in my picture I set it on my dresser for upper body - or I set on the floor for legs. It can be easily angled as well. Be careful, because it is powerful, and can burn if directions aren’t followed. When I follow the instructions and modify for the level of tanning I was doing at the salon, it helps my psoriasis, improves my mood in the grey months, and gives me some color! So glad I don’t have to pay to go to the tanning salon, and can instead have the convenience of at home UV without taking up a bunch of space. I've been using this lamp for almost a year to increase my D levels during winter months. I use on cloudy days during the summer and a few times a week during the winter. This light is potent! By following the directions, I did not burn and I do get a tan. The light came packaged nicely and the bulbs were intact. I highly recommend. ... show more

We ordered this in conjunction with the Vit D lamp as they work synergistically. This lamp is small and convenient to keep on a horizontal dresser. High quality. I am looking forward to a little extra color in the North Idaho winter as well. This is a must have for the PNW.

I am a stay at home mom of 2 littles with hardly any time to spend on myself. This tanning lamp has become such a great at home staple in my self-care routine. I used to go to a tanning salon or a gym that had tanning beds to get just a little color to my complexion here and there, but now I can do it right at home so easily. Definitely read the manual and follow the time limit instructions because you can easily burn if you do not take the proper precautions. But if used as intended it makes at home tanning a breeze.     • Love the lamp, but timer stopped working after 2nd use.
I have mixed feelings about leaving this review. I love the product, but there are flaws. It is very easy to get tanned from this product. I purchased it because I get skin infections (fungal) every Winter and the medications no longer work for me. I am in the sun in Florida most of the year, but in Winter I do not get out in the sun enough to kill off the fungus that attacks me. UV kills it. So I bought this to keep it under control over the Winter and as a side reason, to keep me tan through the Winter months. I am very dark all Summer long and hate when Winter comes and I start to turn into a pasty white boy. First, let me say that if you are not getting color from this, you are either an ALIEN or you are sitting across the room from it. These bulbs emit UV light in rather large quantities, and there is no way that you will not get tan, unless you genetically CAN NOT get tan. In which case, it is not the fault of the product. I still had a very good tan when I used it first, and I managed to get a burn. I figured my skin could take it since I almost never burn from the sun and have a good tan. I added a couple minutes to the time, which might have been fine, but realized later I was too close to the bulbs. If I burned with a healthy tan on darker skin, please be careful if you are fair skinned. Start with just one minute per area. Adjust up by 30 seconds a day until you feel a TINY bit of tenderness about an hour after treatment. So, the bulbs work very well. It is easy to set up. The metal housing is a very good quality. But..... If you need the timer, good luck. Mine quit working after the second treatment. I set it for 6 minutes, so I could do 2 minutes each on 3 different areas. The 3rd day it stopped at the 4 minute mark. So I have no timer. For me this is not a problem since I can just count it out in my head. It works as a form of meditation, so I don't really miss the timer. But for most people, the timer is going to be really important. Also, at the price you are paying, you would think that something as inexpensive as the timer, should actually last longer than 2 days. I mean, you can buy an egg timer for $2 and they last for 30 years. So I hate to disparage a product that I love and depend on, but it would not be fair to other consumers to give it 5 stars. ... show more

This Sperti lamp is amazing. It took me a while to decide to purchase due to the price, but let me tell you.. it’s worth EVERY PENNY! I work from home so I am indoors pretty much all day. I decided to get this lamp to boost my mood and get some sun. It has also helped my plaque psoriasis. You do need to follow the instructions that comes with the machine and follow the chart for the first couple of weeks. You WILL NOT injure yourself if you follow instructions, it’s super easy. There is also 2 sets of goggles included which is great. I hope to soon purchase the Sperti Vitamin D lamp as well. Sperti sunlamps is truly a great company and very easy to contact someone if you need help or have questions. 10/10!! ... show more
