Description

A lighter, sleeker, and more refined silhouette than our classic boat shoe, with the same gripping outsole and all-day comfort to take you from a day on the water to a night on the town. Sperry Top-Sider's Angelfish slip on gives you cheeky prep with each step. This kick's traditional silhouette and boat lacing details will have you feeling like you can sail the high seas, even if you're just headed out to lunch. Its fresh side panel designs pair beautifully with the season's latest finds while the comfort fleece lining and padded insole keep you sailing strong all day long. P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); Best known for boat shoes that have logged more miles of open ocean than any other brand, the Sperry Top-Sider story began on a raw winter day in New England. When avid sailor and hobbyist inventor Paul Sperry let his dog Prince out for his daily exercise, he noticed that the cocker spaniel was remarkably stable, even at a full run on the snow covered, icy crust. Paul raced back to his laboratory to begin working. Using pieces of rubber, a razor blade, and an ordinary sneaker, Paul had soon pieced together the prototype of the world's first boat shoe. Subsequent designs yielded the original Sperry Top-Sider now known as the Authentic Original. Since 1935, Sperry Top-Sider has been the leading brand of footwear for those who love the water. From its introduction of the world's first siped rubber outsole for non-marking traction, to its advanced technical fabrication to combat the elements, Sperry Top-Sider remains the vanguard of high-performance amphibious footwear. Available around the globe in fine independent, marine, and department stores, Sperry Top-Sider is the official footwear of the U.S. Sailing Team, Zodiac Academy, the World Billfish Series, and the Shimano Fishing Tour. • I LOVE sperrys!!
Size: 8.5 Color: Linen/Oat
My daughter got me hooked on these, after I initially had my doubts about the shoes. They are my absolute favorite shoes to wear now! Let me just give you first-time Sperry wearers some tips, though. Yes, you will get blisters when you first wear them. It's happened to almost everyone I know who wear them. It's sort of like breaking them in. I remember complaining to my daughter about this, and asking how in the heck she can wear them. She assured me that if I gave it a day or two (and wore a bandaid), I wouldn't have any problems after. I know that sounds like some insane ritual to wear a pair of shoes, but it worked. Now, they're extremely comfortable. They are a bit narrow though, but my other daughter with very wide feet hasn't had any issues with this specific style. I think I bumped her up 1/2 a size, however, and they fit her perfectly. That said, I wanted to mention that there are some inconsistencies with Amazon's stock of Sperrys. I've ordered a few now, and never had any issues until just recently. -The shoes arrived with different "Sperry" stamps on the back of the heel. One literally looked like it was engraved and stamped, but partially crooked and faded. The other shoe's stamp was darker and looked more typical of a Sperry logo. I'm not sure if I was sent knock offs (or just one knock off?), or just a defective pair? Whichever the case, Amazon was great with sending a replacement, and that pair is perfect. The shoebox lid was really dusty, which is kind of odd, but the shoes were in perfect condition (Even have the plastic shoehorns inside the shoes), so I can't complain. Highly recommend these with the tips mentioned. Trust me, if you do get a blister, put a bandaid on, and hang tight. You just gotta break 'em in. ... show more

  • First pair of Sperry's
Size: 8 Color: Linen/Oat
I am so glad I bought these shoes. I think they are cute, I can wear them three seasons out of the year with pants or shorts, and because of the color I got (linen/oat) they go with everything. I had originally gotten them just for work, but they have become my go-to shoes and I wear them nearly daily. When I first got them in May, these shoes were *so* comfortable. I have literally never worn a more comfortable pair of shoes. The padding inside made it feel like I was walking on a pillow. Also, I'm flat footed, so I have a lot of issues when I wear shoes without inserted arch supports, but these haven't needed them and I've had no pain. I can work a 5 hour shift on my feet in these and feel totally fine when I get out of work. I love these shoes. However, they do have drawbacks that disappointed me, especially for the price I paid. 1) When I first got them, they tore my feet up. The breaking-in period lasts for about two weeks of frequent wear, and it's tough. They cut into the backs of my ankles and did make them bleed, and they rubbed hard on my pinky toes, causing blisters. (To be honest, they stilll rub my pinky toes pretty roughly, but I don't get the blisters anymore. I didn't order a wide, but I probably should have and I imagine that would have helped alleviate a lot of the rubbing.) 2) The laces have come untied. I thought they were stitched into position because these shoes are slip-ons and the laces are really just for show, but apparently not because my left lace came untied just a month after purchasing these, and my right lace came untied 4 months after purchasing. And you cannot retie these laces to look the same as they did, and they will not stay tied even if you could. 3) I bought these with the intent to wear them for a very long time. I was tired of spending $15 on a shoe that would disintegrate by the end of the season, so I sucked it up and spent more n a shoe I thought would be more durable. And these are more durable, for sure, but not by a terribly large amount. I've had these shoes for about 6 months now and the insides are shredding. I admit I wear them nearly everyday, so they've endured a lot of wear, but I still expected a little more. The heel pad has been worn out so I no longer feel so much like I'm walking on a pillow, and the pads inside the shoes have started to tear. Also, the lining inside the shoes has just recently begun to come unattached from the shoe. When I pull my foot out, the lining will come away with my foot just a little bit right now, but I'm sure it will be able to come all the way out in a month. I had hoped I'd have longer with them before this happened. 4) I thought boat shoes were supposed to be able to grip wet ground? Maybe not? I wore these in the rain once and my feet couldn't get any traction and came right out from under me. I no longer wear these if the ground is wet. I do love these shoes, though. They are comfortable, even with the drawbacks, and I've gotten lots of compliments on them. They are worth purchasing, but I'm just not sure if they're worth the price. ... show more

I Love my pretty pink (peach) Sperry Boat shoes. They are very comfortable and look so cute with jeans. And, almost all leather, very soft.

  • Cute shoes, but go with another style instead
Size: 7 Color: Linen/Oat
I purchased the Sperry Angelfish style with the Sperry Women's Bluefish 2 Eye , intending to wear the Bluefish for work and the Angelfish for "real life." I liked the style of the Angelfish better, but needed some comfy shoes that covered the tops of my feet since I work in a restaurant. To my surprise, I ended up liking the Bluefish much more. The Angelfish are cute and relatively comfortable. The insides are padded, and walking or standing in them makes the bottoms of my feet feel great. However, I was disappointed to find that I got blisters on the backs of my feet after wearing these shoes, which I generally only experience with cheaper styles (I have not experienced this issue with other Sperry styles). This, combined with the fact that the exposed top means I can really only wear these with shorts or dresses, means they aren't as versatile as the Bluefish. On the other hand, the shoes are sturdy and well-made, so if you need a cute pair of flats/boat shoes that go with almost anything, these will last a long time and wont go out of style anytime soon since they're classic and neutral. They are a bit tight at first, but don't let that scare you off when you receive them - they'll break in very soon. If you really have your heart set on this style you should go for it, but if you can't decide which style to get, I'd go with the Bluefish instead. ... show more
