    • A decent replacement radiator but has its faults.
Fit was perfect for my 87 F150 (4.9) w/ 4spd manual.. Just didn't use the transmission cooler for my application. It would be nice of Spectra provided new rubber bushings for the mounting holes instead of having to get the old cracked ones off the old radiator to reuse. Secondly, I didn't like the extra nipple near the cap mounting neck. The extra one is at full pressure all the time, ahead of the pressure cap so its not for the recovery bottle. The original radiator did not have this extra port. I had to create a reliable way to plug this port because the thin push on cap which was provided will not hold up over time and will shoot out coolant eventually. Overall, not a bad radiator but there are better choices to match the original radiator. ... show more

The radiator is fine but I ordered a single core and the truck had a double core but the cooling capacity will be fine because I could never get truck to reach normal operating temp. Even with the single core it barely gets in the low operating temp. the only problem that I encountered was that the fan shroud would not mount back properly because of the radiator being shorter than the original but I was able to make some adjustments and every thing seems to be working properly. The summer temps down here will be a good test to see if I have adequate cooling. I believe that it will do just fine. Al Pruett ... show more
