  • Works great! Saved a lot of space.
Size: 6 Large
I didn't know what good size to buy, so I started with jumbo size. It's really big! Great for bedding and pillows. Yes I can store sweaters in jumbo bag, but I would only fill up half and fold the bag after sucking the air out. That way, it doesn't take too much footprint on my closet shelf. However, it is kind waste to use too big bag for smaller stuff. So I then bought medium and large size. They work fine. But I do notice the jumbo bag is a lot thicker than medium size bag, a lot more sturdier feel. Another thing I noticed is I have to set my Dyson vacuum at maximum power to really suck out the air. ... show more

  • Over seas
The ones that work are wonderful but they don’t always hold air. I’d say one to two in each box I order won’t hold air. Very durable have traveled with them before. And still was flat when I got to Ireland. Sure save room. I put my pump in my suitcase for the trip home. Works like a charm.

  • Easy to use and mostly durable and re-usable
Size: 10 Small
I've used this one package of bags for all my trips in the past 2 years. It has allowed me to pack 5 days worth of clothes into a backpack that will fit into the budget airlines' restrictive personal item measurements--you know who I'm talking about--without fear of paying an extra fee at the gate sizer. I pack the pump and an extra vacuum bag in case the first one fails, and it has only happened once. ... show more

  • Works as expected but included pump is useless
Size: 6 Jumbo
One 40” x 30” bag held several thick microfiber and “tapestry” type throws that I’m not using right now but I want to keep them for future use. They’re thick and bulky; I think I put seven of them in one bag. It’s flat enough to slide under my bed or couch so storage is easy and dust-free. The hand pump included was totally useless. No instructions with it but seemed like no brainer: remove the cap on the seal, screw on the pump, then pump the handle up and down. After several minutes I didn’t see any results at all so I put it aside and used my vacuum cleaner. And a note about that. I have a Shark Navigator Lift-Away (a few yrs old) and it doesn’t have a nozzle that will fit this bag’s valve. Fortunately I saved a connector from another vacuum from long ago thinking it might come in handy one day. Today was that day. It slid right on the vacuum’s hose end while the smaller end was the perfect fit for the valve on the bag. It worked great and the bag was deflated in seconds. So maybe keep that in mind and check to see what your vacuum has. I attached two pictures of the adapter I used as well as two pictures of the size of the valve opening using a ruler. Your vacuum hose needs to fit snugly around that. Also not very clearly pictured is a clear round tag that I dated and attached to the bag. That will let me know how long the bag stays sealed. I didn’t want to start marking on the bag as I expect to reuse it multiple times. I can peel the tag off easily but that’s not a big deal if you don’t have anything similar. You could use masking tape, etc., if you wanted to do the same. The bag does seem sturdy and the zip closer is strong but make sure it’s closed tightly. I pressed firmly and ran my fingers over it end to end several times to make sure it was sealed. The cap on the valve is very easy to use and screws on quickly so no air gets back in the bag. Make sure you screw the cap on straight; if it goes on crooked it will let air back inside the bag and reinflate. Right now I’m happy with it but time will tell. I gave it four stars on easy to use because of the pump. If anyone knows “the secret” to that or what I might be doing wrong, I’d be interested to know. The pump would be great to take on a trip along with some smaller bags as it’s plastic, very light, and only about 9-1/2” long. But not so much if it doesn’t work. I’m curious to see how it holds up long term. ... show more

  • One year later, only half of them work
Size: 6 Medium
I really liked these bags and used them when moving between home and college (7 hours away). I bought them last summer so I've only used them a handful of times and never left them vacuum-sealed for longer than two days. When I was packing at the end of April (9 months of owning the bags) I had filled the bags and sealed them the day before I left. I filled them all the way up to the **line and sealed them with the hand pump since I didn't have a vacuum. The next day when I started packing my car, I noticed three of them had reinflated partially, with one entirely reinflated. Only two of them had stayed completely sealed with no air leaks. I could tell the problem was with the valve because when I tried to suck the air out of them again, they would suck half the air back in through the pink spongy bit (so the bags themselves didn't break, just the part where you suck the air out). Pros: Condenses clothes and bed clothes to about half their size Bags are made of thick plastic material that withstood spikes, zippers, and chains Even the medium size is large and you get 6 bags (good deal) Not as heavy as you would expect after sucking the air out of the bag Hand-pump works really well, but is obviously exhausting. (Vacuum is MUCH quicker) Cons: Half of mine stopped staying completely sealed after a year I'm not sure how well these would stay compressed over a long-period of time as (some of) mine inflated overnight **I filled my all the way up, and possibly a little over, the line on the bag. I did this with most of them, but this could be the reason why they started seeping air back in. It could also be that the hand-pump somehow broke the valves because this was the only time I didn't use a vacuum and this is the only time they stopped working. The ones that still work are awesome, though. ... show more

  • It works very well

It works well. An adult down jacket looks like a piece of cardboard after pumping out the air from the bag
