  • Ear buds are a pain in my bud.
Waited a while for these and had very high hopes. Put them in my ear for a fit test, and they melt into your brain, amazing fit. No pain, for the short time I struggled with pairing and having both connect at the same time, they felt great. The problem came when I powered them up and attempted to pair them with my iPhone 11. The left ear paired quickly, and I started paying music thinking the right would catch up; nope. When the right finally paired it kicked the left off. So I went to the instructions, of which there were two instructions. 1. Unpair and forget from your device. 2. Try in again (in effect). At this point neither would pair. After 35 minutes of trying the same thing over and over hoping for a different result, I said to hell with it, boxed them up and will drop them off tomorrow. Wireless earbuds have come a long way this last year, and the Chinese competition to the name brands (probably also Chinese, but better QC) has seen quantum leaps. For most people the challenge seems to be fit and getting them to stay in. Call quality also often falls off, and sound is subjective. I'm going to take a 6 month break from looking and hope the landslide of tech innovations and connectivity improvements catch up to my needs. Most importantly, at least first off, they have to pair seamlessly, and cannot fall off or compete for attention between earbuds. ... show more

  • Discontinued product now only available to purchase on eBay; ships from China.
Update 9/20/2020: I’ve only had these for a few weeks and already the touch controls on the right bud seem broken and barely function. They work when they want. I followed instructions to factory reset both buds, but it did nothing. The left bud touch controls still work, but are very picky. Together the sound is very balanced now (when I first got them they weren’t but got better after a few full charges), and the bass is very audible and not over powering. My first impression: I’m disappointed with these. I just got a pair in the mail today. The sound isn’t balanced; the left bud is louder than the right, the sound leans more to the left bud, while the right has less bass and thin treble (major sound quality improvement after several full charges). Sound quality: 1/5 The touch controls are awful. They don’t respond well. Many times while trying to pause it by double-tapping either side (especially the right bud) it increased or decreased the volume instead. They don’t pair individually at the same time to a device. Whichever bud is removed from the case first becomes the “master bud” until that “master bud” is put away and then the other auto-pairs to the device to use in mono mode. They auto-pair when removed from a fully charged case. Pairing is actually very easy after the initial pairing and first full charge. Pairing and touch controls: 2/5 The fit is comfortable and fairly snug after figuring out which ear tip and ear wing fits best. The right bud has however fallen out of my ear fairly easily when bumped, which caused it to fall out and hit the ground 4 times now (which likely has caused the right bud’s touch control to break; they’re ridiculously fragile). Comfort & fit: 3/5 These True Engine 2 earbuds are certainly NOT worth the cost. If these were $40 it wouldn’t be as much of a disappointment...but they’re $70-$80!!! These are nearly triple the cost of the Anker Soundcore Spirit Pro. Cost for what you get: 2.5/5. Also the USB type-C cable that came with the buds is ONLY 3”!!! It’s obscenely short. I’m shocked really. Cable: 1/5 (WAY too short) Overall rating for sound quality, comfort, features, touch controls, cost, cable provided, 3/5. Disappointing. But maybe you’ll like them. Update 6/20/2021 Touch controls on right ear bud have completely ceased functionality. I have reset the pair, disconnected and erased the buds from my iPod numerous times the last 2 days, but nothing works. Touch controls on the right bud are broken. I got Less than one year of use out of these before it no longer works. Great ear buds after I got used to them. It sucks they didn’t last longer. Thankfully, I bought a second pair before they’re gone forever. Second pair is perfect. ... show more

  • Bass-heavy sound, versatile ear fits, great for the price! Best for music enthusiasts on the go.
I was looking for a pair of Wireless BT Earbuds for a while to use while I work. I didn't want to break the bank, so I was shopping on a budget. These are very good for the price point, but of course aren't spectacular either. The battery life is fine, I haven't had any issues with that. The charging case is sleek and feels well built, as do the buds themselves. I will say that as someone who's always struggled to find buds that fit well and STAY in my ear, these came with a smaller option that fit better than anything I've worn before. Huge plus for me there. I work in music production, so my sound quality standard is biased. That being said, they have decent sound, albeit super bass-heavy. The link quality is good and I get decent range on them while being away from my phone or other device as well. The call audio quality however is quite poor, and the built-in Mic isn't great. I also find the touch interface to be confusing, and inconsistent in performance. Pairing is easy enough but the controls just don't feel intuitive. Overall I am happy with them, I'll use them for a while I'm sure. I was looking for a way to listen to music without big headphones at work, and this does the trick. ... show more

  • Sophisticated little package for a good price
They're comfortable and secure even while riding my bike. Noise isolation is good. This was important to me as the city sounds are often way too much for me. With these buds I can enjoy my tunes or audiobook without the outside world getting in the way. The other thing that was important to me is sound quality and these little guys really delivered! The duel drivers deliver fantastic sound. Long bass notes are clear and don't bleed through to the mid range. Sound across the spectrum is clear and sharp. ++ I don't make a lot of calls but my initial tests went quite well. The mics do the trick and didn't sound quiet or have any other problems that other wireless buds often have. As some others have said, the touch control takes a little getting used to but I didn't have much trouble with it. It's nice to be able to control volume and skip songs. More than that I am in love with the triple tap for Google assistant. That way I don't even need to have my phone out. Great for walking or cycling! All in all it's a sophisticated little package for a good price. I am pleased with them and am honestly curious to see what Soundpeats will come out with next. ... show more
