  • Work well!
Size: Standard Pack
These pads definitely help mute the sound. It’s a big difference I bought used and they were in terrific shape. I cut a piece out of the largest pad and put it in my ride and it worked great.

  • Nice to practice on
Size: Fusion Box Set w/ Cymbal & Bass
The rebound is more similar to a pillow which in my opinion is good since it strengthens the muscles. Noise is much lower however it still make noise and the neighbors can absolutely hear me playing, on another note, the sound it produces is really nice :) Durability wise, even though I started to use it a few weeks ago, I think it might ware off quickly (hopefully I’m wrong). Overall, I am happy I got this and I can practice at home and until a late hour. ... show more

  • Quiet Playing With A Slight Loss in Rebound
Size: Rock Box Set w/ Cymbal & Bass
Absolutely love these. They virtually make the drum heads quiet as ever. Same with the ride and hi-hat. The crash cymbal mute still allows it to ring a little but it's a nice touch. I can practice now whenever I want!

  • Not great for dampening - but the deep tone these produce give me a unique sound
Size: Standard Pack
I bought these dampeners for my snare and two toms. For reference, I always have, and always will play with Promark H-RODS. These dampeners do their job for the most part. It does reduce the initial hit on the drums, but the overall volume of the hit really does not change much. Not enough that I would recommend these if you are playing drums with your grandmother in the next room - but they do take the edge off a bit. I find that they actually are more useful for creating a "different" sound for the drums. It almost gives it a deeper profile, similar to what you might hear on a hip-hop or electronic album. It's hard to explain, but I love the sound that I get with these. What I do now is take these off for 'rock', and then put the dampeners back on if I am playing something more rhythmic or if I want a unique sound while recording. Once again, the overall volume and response does not seem to be effected very much. I enjoy them because they simply give me a more lush, deep sound with each stroke. Sounds like a different kit in a good way to me. In my honest opinion, if you want something to muffle your drums, I would just buy a pack of microfiber rags and secure them to your drum heads. That actually dampens the sound the correct way without changing your tone. But for the price, these are worth it, especially if you are into home recording and trying out new sounds. ... show more

  • Good, but kick needs adjustment
Size: Standard Box Set w/ Cymbal & Bass
Great kit for practice. All sizes fit on the toms and cymbals well. Only issue is minor... kick drum pad needs to be adjusted a little bit before you can really get into a practice. It's not plug and play, but that was to be expected- all work well. No complaints

  • Bass Mute Broke After An Hour Of Playing
Size: Standard Box Set w/ Cymbal & Bass
I'll start with the bass drum mute first. It's not really very quiet. I put the beater through it after an hour of playing. Using the pad on the snare is very awkward if you're hitting rim shots because it's thick. So even though it's only that much the angle of your snare doesn't feel right. The mutes for the hi-hat and ride cymbals left a film on my vintage Paiste 2002s. Mutes on the toms are fine, although they leave a black dust around the edges of coated heads. Also, don't expect any rebound from these. This review is coming from an Evans Drumhead lover, so I wish I could be more positive. ... show more

  • Mostly VERY good
Size: Fusion Box Set w/ Cymbal & Bass
These SoundOff by Evans drum head mufflers do a really great job at reducing how loud my drums are yet still let a little of the drum sound thru, esp the toms. The bass drum muffler is OK but I had to re-glue one part of the rubber where it meets the bass drum beater...not a big deal. The rebound and feel are pretty good...a little bit less rebound than the real heads but it's not like hitting a pillow either. Though they WORK, I wasn't a fan of the cymbal mutes, cuts all the ring off. I ended up buying the Zildjian quiet cymbals I forget the model name. My only negative?? If you put one of these SoundOff by Evans on your snare-drum, just doesn't sound or feel right at all. I ended up buying a 14 inch Aquarian muffler JUST for the snare and it is beyond awesome. Overall though...these Evans mufflers do a good job...there's a tad of some rubber smell but nothing terrible, gets less and less with time...They do the job I'd say. ... show more
