The lenses were sold as new. They arrived in a white box wrapped in bubble plastic, and the back cap was missing.

    • So Far So Good
About 3 years ago I purchased the Sony A6000 camera kit that included this lens. Within the last year that lens was loosing communication with the camera body. Researching the fault, I discovered that the fault seems to be a common fault. Because it was more than a year after purchase (Out of Warranty), Sony wouldn't offer any help other than have it repaired at a Sony repair center at a cost around $160. I contacted the seller here with a couple questions, as a result I purchased this lens. So far the lens is working perfectly. Only time will tell if this lens will exhibit the same issue down the road. I like the lens a lot for indoor photos dealing with family functions and alike. I have had good luck with outdoor photos as well. I have seen some negative reviews about this lens, but I can't confirm the issue of the reviewers. Remember that this isn't a high end equivalent lens costing 7 times the price. It is a good all around lens for everyday photos. Oh yes.... It doesn't have the one year Sony Warranty but the seller sells it with their one year warranty. ... show more

I think i must have received a defective unit. I returned for a full refund. The lens did take nice photos and decent video, but there was harsh grinding when zooming. Not normal lens noise at all. I have replaced this with a tamron 11-20mm lens. Different but way better and silent when zooming. I do see others have success with this lense and it is a much better value than the tamron. But! I think you should know it is potentially a gamble. I thought i would have to live with it but when processing videos the sound was not just noticible, it was deafening. I knew it was an issue when looking at reviews from others with this lens who had no such issue. Be sure to test out if you purchase and hope it is a good unit! For what it is worth, the photos come out beautiful. Only video is thhe issue if your unit grinds. ... show more
