  • Favorite backpack
Size: One Size Color: Coyote
So a few years ago I was wearing this backpack , which I originally got from a sporting goods store, everyday on my streetbike (motorcycle). I ended up getting hit on the highway and going down. This backpack was the reason I didn’t get more hurt. I slid on my back for a distance and shaved the front pocket off but the bag essentially kept me safe. These are very durable and well constructed and for this reason I have a special place in my heart for this bag. I still to this day carry it with me almost everywhere: gym, work , airplanes , etc. These bags are very well made, look good, and are the perfect size. ... show more

  • Great midsized pack
Size: One Size Color: Olive Drab Green
I've owned one of these packs in a different color for several years, and my son recently decided that he wanted one for camping trips to use as a day pack. Picked up this one for him and he loves it. This is not the largest pack in the world, but it is a good size for a day trip or even an overnight, with enough room for a change of clothes and toiletries as long as you don't overpack. The quality of construction on mine has been excellent, I've taken it on multiple long trips around the country and have had no issues. In the summertime I especially appreciate the sunglass pouch on the top of the pack which has a soft lined interior to keep your glasses from getting scratched while keeping them easily accessible. I would definitely recommend this particular pack for anyone looking for a good mid-sized, sturdy, useful pack for everyday use. ... show more

  • Good Backpack
Size: One Size Color: Olive Drab Green
5 years ago, bought two of these packs for hiking and rucking. I use one and gave the other to someone else. Both packs are still going strong. MOLLE is tough and plentiful. While they aren’t the most comfortable packs, they are tough and inexpensive. Even though I have other packs I keep grabbing this one. You can’t really go wrong, especially at this price. ... show more

  • Works well as a range bag
Size: One Size Color: Turbulence
I've been using this for about a month now as a range bag. Pleasantly surprised, especially based on some of the negative reviews. I was prepared to accept a lower quality of build and finishing for the price point, but it's actually above what I would have expected. Webbing and stitching seem to be quality build, (not sure what denier as the description doesn't disclose this information). There are some small little strands of thread sticking out here and there, but they are just loose ends that haven't been trimmed and aren't indicative of bad or failing stitching. Only time will tell how durable it is, so I'll reserve a star in that category to allow the pack to prove itself. However, at this price point, replacing it every two to three years is completely understandable if, for some reason, it doesn't hold up. Molle loops seem to be standard size. The pack fits comfortably on the shoulders and I like the feel of the yoke style straps. There's also an adjustable sternum strap. It rests against the back comfortably as well with padding in the correct areas. I could see carrying this all day, though that's not how I use it. It also has a hole for a hydration tube. One of my favorite features is the soft lined glasses case at the top of the back near the handle. Use this all the time. I've put 20-30 pounds of gear in this with no concerns. The administrative pouch has lots of little pockets that are very useful. One thing I don't like is the skull emblem on the hook and loop. It's unnecessary. As is calling this a "Ninja" pack. Not sure who they are marketing to. This is made in China, but branded as SOG and supposedly carries a lifetime warranty. SOG doesn't carry this model on their site, so it may be an Amazon special. For my intended purposes this more than fit the bill. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another or even buy one as a gift. Good value overall. ... show more

Size: One Size Color: Camo
Very satisfied with the quality of this bckpck. Has well designed compartments and the material is lightweight and somewhat rigid. Due to the nature of my daily activities, this pk goes everywhere with me and has been perfect for my needs so far. It also supports a lot of extra modifications.

  • 5 Years and Still Works Great!
Size: One Size Color: Black
So, I'm a civilian and don't have formal military training. What I do have is a lot of personal survival skills, a close proximity to the mountains and am generally the only one that "carries" in the group. If you hike in the Appalachian region, you know its important to have a little survival gear in your bag. This was the backpack that I bought to carry bottled water, TP, first aid, heavy blade knife and lastly, a hand howitzer with a little extra backup in the event a momma bear decided we were too close to the cubs we didn't see. Hiking with several kids can keep your attention outside of your immediate surroundings so all things need to be readily accessible and well stowed and fastened. What was equally important for us was to set the bag down, unzip and not have it fall over and dump its contents on the wet ground or fall in to the river. Through 5 years of hiking in all seasons, carrying a decent amount of "stuff", this pack has retained its shape, not really posed any issues of any kind and even still looks pretty decent. It shows no signs of wear besides a little dirt. I have no complaints at all and would suggest this as quickly for a regular back pack as I would for a tactical pack. Its outlasted the others at half the price. If you're thinking about this one, it's a lot of bang for the buck. If you're more focused on branding, it's still a decent brand name and lastly, this has not been the least bit uncomfortable or posed any ergonomic issues through the years. ... show more
