Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Excellent quality. I have had a Sofabaton remote for years. I loved it. Until my dod eat it. Now I got This new version, which takes to another level. I was able to find all my devices without any trouble, and I have some old devices which I love on my tv room. Finally I can control my Pioneer Elite, Roku, FireTV, DVD, and the receiver in one remote. The infrared blaster works perfectly. No need to be pointing to the Device. My kids leave their Toys, controls etc in front of the sensor and used to constantly get up to move things ti clear the infrared’s path to control the tv. With this remote and the blaster those problems go away. Setting up is a breeze. The IPhone app even has. Videos on how to do everything. With the demise of Harmony, I started looking for a replacement remote as the buttons started to fail. I found this on sale and decided to give it a try after reading some online reviews. Pleasantly surprised how simple it was to set up and configure each device to the remote. Just download the Sofabaton app, find your devices, and that’s it! The hub itself has a small form factor which is great, and the remote has a nice sleek design, great display screen, a scroller to select different devices, and lit buttons with a nice click feel. As far as using the remote, if you already own a Fire TV stick or equivalent, then this remote will feel natural to you. This is my second sofabaton remote (a U series) and I must say, their support is awesome! In case they don’t have your device for whatever reason, you can reach out to their support team and they respond quick to any inquiry you may have. You can also just program your X1S with the remote you want to learn from. Note that the U series remote that I purchased a couple years ago still works great, but this new X1S is worth the premium. ... show more

    • Good Effort, Needs Work
I'm glad to see a company fill the void of Harmony. I like the idea of the app, and the hub definitely boosts the signal, but this device needs a more intuitive setup menu with more setup options. Navigating the remote takes some time to get familiar. Oddly, you must back out of an activity and select a device to control it. Shouldn't that be the default once in a given activity? You would think so. I hope they improve in future iterations, but this system's value is around $50, not $180. I'm not looking for Harmony's exact interface, but get closer, and you'll have a winner. I will not buy another one until then. ... show more

    • Great solution
We can no longer find a new harmony remote with a hub of which we needed with our setup. We needed a hub with remote since our system (Marantz receiver, Apple TV, and Blu-ray) is located in our mechanical room and require the ability for the remote to “talk” to our LG G4 Oled TV and the above equipment via IR and Bluetooth. The SofaBaton is the best solution since Harmony is no longer in the game. The setup was a little more challenging than the old Harmony but nothing that couldn’t be done. It does sync wirelessly which is awesome so when you make a change you don’t need to plug it in. Very nice! The remote lasts a long time before it needs charging.     • Horrifically Bad Remote

The data base is absolute garbage. Like many I am trying to replace a logitech harmony remote. Against my better judge I bought this remote. I have set up numerous logitechs for family members etc. This sofathing is just bad. Yes you can set it up and make it work...but its a pita and its pure cheese. The app that links with the hub is fairly easy to set up BUT the device set up is garbage. If you're lucky enough to find your device on the dogwater data base the remote graphic is always a sat cable remote. The default commands are always the same. The learning worked for all my remotes EXCEPT my dish tv 540. And again every functio n on the default is the same so you will find yourself adding commands like crazy. So if you have 4 hours or more to sit around learning remotes the sofathing is for you. Stay away NOT for beginners or the impatient. ... show more
