  • Not all Soda Streams can use these
I didn't read the fine print and discovered too late that these do not fit in my old Soda Stream so I had to return them (although I wish they made glass carafes for the older versions). It's worth going to the Soda-Stream website to find out exactly which machine you have because not all carafes fit all types (of which there are many now. Mine is already 15+ years old. Luckily they still make carafes to fit, they are just out of plastic. ... show more

  • Perfect accessory for my SodaStream machine
These carafes are attractive, durable, dishwasher safe and keep our sparkling water from losing its fizz. The only problem is that the caps are not ergonomically designed - it is painful to grip and loosen when tightened on the bottle. Would be nice if a more ergonomic cap were designed. Other than that, these are great bottles and they are perfectly compatible with my SodaStream model. ... show more

  • Too short, fails to pressurize without help
There is a slight problem with this carafe that makes it relatively incompatible with the SodaStream Penguin: it's shorter than the original carafe by a very little bit: roughly 0.5mm~1.0mm. Unfortunately, this is just enough to cause it to fail to seal in the Penguin without applying a great deal of extra down-force on the outside of the enclosure during pressurization. Applying an extra 75lb of force on the Penguin can't be good for it. The only solution I found that seems both safe and effective was to insert a circular gasket in the bottom of the Penguin carafe holder; this sounds a bit fancier than the reality, which is just a ring of cardboard. Gasket method works fine, but you have to remove it to use the original (correctly sized) carafe. This is tedious if you alternate amongst several carafes as I do. If you can find the original, definitely get that instead. How do you tell? The short ones that do NOT fit are as pictured here with the flat screw top. The original have a domed slide-on top. Eventually, of course, there won't be any originals left to be found. Converting entirely to the too-short screw-top version and just leaving the gasket in place would also work without needing to swap the gasket in and out. ... show more

  • Thick and sturdy
I’m a bit disappointed that this doesn’t fit my soda stream. The description describes which soda stream it fits, but mine is so old I thought I’d take a chance. It doesn’t fit, but the bottle is so sturdy and nice looking that I’m keeping it to transfer carbonated water into and use on the table for refills at meals. ... show more

  • Glass is so clean!
Love soda stream for coming up with glass bottles. Holds the fizz terrifically
Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2024 by Kristine Devine

  • New Sodastream that uses glass
I really liked the idea of the glass carbonating bottles. I’ve been using Sodastream for a decade or more. I love the plain fizzy water, but other things about the equipment and gas replacement aren’t great. The new glass bottles a can be cleaned in the dishwater which solves some of my problems with the plastic bottles. I really like the looks, but the design has some drawbacks. First of all, I read one review where the top of the bottle broke, and I lost one picking the bottle up from the dish drainer in the first week of ownership. While my hands aren’t huge, the bottles are a bit large to hold with great security. The new bottle caps are also a bit of problem to screw on without dropping the cap. My last complaint is also minor, but deals with the new Sodastream machine itself. While it’s nicer looking than the original unit, it is a bit more intrusive. The part I don’t like is all the twists and turns and making certain the top comes down properly. It also takes two hands, requiring unsure coordination to open and close, for every fizz. Here’s an update 18 months later. First of all, I want to upgrade my review to 4 Stars. While there are still a few weak areas, mentioned originally, my daily use of the glass bottle Sodastream has improved. I finally found a good way to clean the bottles in the dishwasher, but continue to rinse them mostly by hand, and only dish wash ones that need it. I use a wine bottle rack to keep them handy. In addition, my Sodastream pitcher was showing lots of wear. I tried their larger container system and have been very happy with the change. It holds a lot more water, so I no longer have to wait to fill up the glass bottles. I have it right next to the sink and it will also fit inside the sink for filling and cleaning. For me, this is an excellent alternative to the pitcher. Filling up and emptying are a lot easier and less frequent, and is a major part of my upgrade to 4 stars. ... show more

  • Only one that fits our Sodastream
Bought as a replacement for our Sodastream. I like that it is glass & easy to clean. I do not like the price. It is expensive for one bottle.

  • Very Nice Glass SodaStream Bottle
The Sodastream Bottle is attractive and sturdy. I really like that it is glass. The narrow neck makes it a little more difficult to wash by hand. You will need a bottle brush if you are washing by hand. It will fit pretty well into most dishwashers for cleaning. Great for use with the sodastream or using to dispense other liquids. ... show more
