This is a great kit for any drummer. The practice pad is made of wood with a rubber pad over it. Fairly standard. It’s a nice size. But what really was impressive about this kit is the stand. It’s a snare stand that It is fully adjustable. It can be set to any height or angle. It holds the practice pad tight like a snare drum. Very solid. Does not move. Definitely far better than the tiny little "para-diddle" paddles decades ago. This is a very good large sized pad and with a nice case and drum sticks! I always wanted to learn to do a great drumroll.. and this is a perfect tool!

The media could not be loaded. So, does this feel just like a drum or does it even feel like the proven standards as far as practice pads go? No. I will say though that it is close enough to other practice pads that it isn't a bad alternative. They also give you 2 pairs of sticks and what not too which is pretty great. So I can't complain.
