Got this bc it was a brand I recognized and not the normal Chinese knockoff sounding brand Amazon tends to have. Also it was less money than those. I’ve had it for 3 months now run it everyday and I love not having to clean by hand. It actually cleans better than by hand. I got a bulk pack of retainer cleaner tablets I put in a couple times a week too just to get a more deep clean for like ~$5 bucks. I wish I would have known about these earlier because I broke a retainer before while trying to brush it by hand with a toothbrush and these cost wayyyy less than a new retainer does and it does all the work for you. Must have for anyone who wears aligners or retainers.

The water actually got pretty hot by the end of the use, which isn't great for the invisalign. The cleaning works ok. The vibration wasn't that strong and i still have to use a toothbrush after to get the sliminess out. What I don't like is that there's no battery, you have to keep it plugged in. I need to unplug it everytime to refill the water and plug it back in, which can't be good for the life of the device.

I don’t know what people are doing to their device that is making them not last but I’ve had mind for over a year with no issues. They’re likely overfilling the devices, causing the light to be under water. Or they are getting the charge port wet when rinsing. This device cleans your retainers well when combined with cleaning tablets. I’ve even used dish soap and that works well too. If you take practical but logical steps in not getting this device wet, it will last you.

For clear aligners, I found it worked much better with the white basket out and used water with a little soap in it. With the white basket in, I found it didn't really do much cleaning. Seemed like it was absorbing most of the vibrations. I also am not sure how to feel about the UV light, you probably don't need it if you use soapy water and rinse your appliances. The top isn't totally enclosed, so you will be able to gaze at the UV light when it's on, which is not great for you. Though you can turn it off while it vibrates if you want. I saw some people say the product is built cheaply and theirs cracked. I didn't have any issues with that, it's plastic but it works fine, if it comes unbroken and you don't drop it I don't expect it to ever break.

This is one of the more affordable and practical UV and ultrasonic cleaners out there. I use it once a day, usually in the morning, along with a retainer cleansing effervescent tablet. However, I've gone through 4 of these in the past two years. They tend to last about 4-6 months. Around the third month of normal use, cracks start appearing at the back of the case near the hinge. By the fourth month, the purple casing around the UV light breaks, and between the fifth and sixth months, the UV light stops working altogether. However, it still functions as an ultrasonic cleaner for another month or so before the ultrasonic part also gives up. Despite all this, I still think it's one of the better options available. I once spent over $150 on a supposedly higher quality brand, and yet it had the same issues within the same timeframe. As long as it remains priced around $30, it's worth getting, even if you have to replace it every six months. In fact, I just ordered another one today since the UV light in my fourth unit stopped working this morning.

I can’t believe I have had Invisalign and a retainer for years and not had one of these devices. I’ve always used the tablets you add to a glass of water/brushed my retainer with toothpaste. It is incredible how much cleaner my retainer was after the first use of this device. You can also use it to clean your sonic tooth brush head. I’m disgusted to think that I ever put a retainer in my mouth without UV disinfection.

It helps keep my mouthguard clean. It saves me time every night from having to clean my mouthguard by hand. It does a way better job of cleaning it too. The ultrasonic and UV light combo do a fantastic job. the mouthguard doesn't seem as gross as it used to before.

I bought this sonic cleaner and it lasted a little over 2 months. Out of nowhere the product just died. I was very conscious not to get water near the power cord/outlet, per the instructions. Yet all of a sudden the cleaner would not turn on. There is no warranty on the product, just the warranty included where you purchase it. So if you buy it here on Amazon you get 30 days. I wouldn't say do not buy this product. It did clean my retainers. Just be aware that the Smile Spa Sonic Cleaner is very cheap. I would've liked to at least get six months to a year out of it before it died. If you're looking for something to last a little longer, you should spend more money.
