***PLEASE NOTE: the pictures I've posted show sound from 3 eggs*** I bought these on deep discount around Thanksgiving/Christmas, and I wasn't expecting much. They were eggs, I figured I'd use them as a centerpiece for Easter baskets. We're a family that lives science experiments, this has slime--good enough. Oh. My. Gosh. My kids weren't initially impressed. I think we all thought we were going to break open those eggs and find cheap plastic toys inside that would be quickly forgotten... To be clear, there are plastic toys. But this egg is an *EXPERIENCE.* It started with my oldest opening his egg and finding a dino head encased in "frozen slime". The frozen slime is hard gelatin, not your usual slime, and he had to dig to get it out. The other two were immediately intrigued, and they cracked open those eggs. We progressed to "Crystal slime", the classic slime most will be familiar with. I got out bowls so that we could pool our slimes for a shared experience. We got into the "stretchy snow", which is clear but more like Play-Doh, and the "growing snow", which is grainy and fluffy. We did the fizzing dissolvables in water. Along the way, the kids found all of the pieces to a dinosaur stuck in the various goos, and we assembled the dinos at the end. All in all, we got a good two hours of family fun and memories out of these eggs, and the kids were THRILLED. If you're a parent who worries about mess, this probably isn't for you. If you're a parent who likes talking science and giving a child memorable experiences more than *stuff*, this is the toy you're looking for. ... show more

Overall, the quality is OK. The durability of the actual dinosaurs again is just okay. I think the cost is a bit high for what you are purchasing. Some of the dinosaurs are not easy to assemble So parental help will be needed. My grandson's favorite part of this is the slime.

My little grandson is a fanatic for dinosaurs. He was thrilled when he came over and found a giant dinosaur egg waiting to be smashed. The egg is quite large and full of surprises: slime and Dino parts. We had a lot of fun opening each prize and experiencing different kinds of slime. And in each container of slime was a Dino part to assemble into a full dinosaur. It was about 2 hours of smiles and fun so totally worthwhile. The media could not be loaded. Smasher Dino Ice Age Surprise Egg includes various mini games and items inside. Kids will start with figuring out how to smash open the egg, finding clues on what to do, searching and assembling parts for the larger dino toy, and opening smaller eggs for the cute mini dinosaurs. All these can be done with little help from adults. We like that there are many different fun activities to do. The egg comes with different types of slimes (icy, snowy, stretchy..etc) and toy parts are hidden inside them for kids to find out. There are also activities which requires playing with water and kids love those. At the end, kids will have one large dinosaur toy and 6 mini dinosaurs to play using their imaginations. All the eggs can be put together again (back to original unopened egg). The instructions are clear and easy to understand for kids. Hints to parents: Some activities are related to play with slimes so it's better to prepare a surface that's easy to clean for kids to play on. ... show more
