I like this concept. It seems like this will be a good way to keep the delicate microHDMI port less likely to get damaged from a cable being pulled sideways while in the camera. I wish the cable was either a little more flexible or slightly longer. The only mounting position option is right next to the port since the cable is too short to allow this to mount to the top of the cage. Would have maybe been nice to also have to other mounting holes so that you could orient this 90 degrees in the opposite direction to change the direction of the input. But since this is the only product that I have seen like this, it will stay a 5 start item. It could be improved though. ... show more

    • Good but needs a bit longer cord
I bought this to help reduce the wear and tear on my camera's Micro HDMI port. While I like it, the cable needs to be a little bit longer... 1 to 1.5 inch longer would even be perfect. I have it setup with a SmallRig camera cage and SmallRig USB/HDMI cable clamp, but how it attaches makes the cable strain a little and bend a lot. I actually only connect it with 1 screw and then I thread the other screw out, but this causes it to rotate a little. This will probably depend on your individual camera cage and usage. The material where it screws in feels sort of rubbery and softer, but not really metal. So I'm a little unsure about screwing it down too tightly, in case it splits it. While I still think it's worth purchasing for anyone with a Micro HDMI port, I'm not sure how long it will last since it's at such a tight bend radius. Still giving it 4 stars though, because it seems to be the only product like it and it is a cool solution. It would be great if they added an extra inch or so to the cable, and maybe come out with a version that also has a USB extension along with the HDMI. ... show more

If your camera has a micro-hdmi port and you have a Smallrig cage, you NEED to get this adapter. It mounts right on the cage next to the micro-hdmi and essentially converts your micro-hdmi to a full size HDMI connection for your field monitor. I'm no longer worrying about damaging micro connections or the port itself, because I keep this attached at all times. This prevents the wear and tear on these small ports. This one is a no brainer. If you're camera has a micro hdmi, you're using a cage, and you use an external monitor, you should already have this. It screws right onto your cage to give you a full sized hdmi connection. Not only can you use a full sized hdmi cable, you'll never have to worry about damaging your camera. If a cable gets tugged accidentally, all the strain goes into this inexpensive part instead of into your expensive camera. If for nothing other than 'peace of mind' it's well worth the expense.     • Relieves stress on camera's HDMI jack
I bought this adapter because my camera ports are hidden behind part of my canera cage and it is difficult getting cables plugged into them. And HDMI cables are usually thick and stiff which will stress the camera's HDMI socket while I am trying to plug the cable in and get it routed. The cable on the adapter is very short and I had trouble finding a location on my cage that had the appropriate screw holes, was within reach of the camera jack, and wasn't obstructing anything else. As it is the cable makes several U turns and is under stress. But it least it will never have to be moved or unplugged. I wish there was a similar adapter to relocate my RX10-III's multifunction jack. ⭐⭐⭐ Is my base rating for a product that is fully functional and delivers on its promises. ... show more
