  • Good option for trail cameras
These clamps are sturdy and well made. Fully articulating so your can position your camera just so. Works well with cameras that have mounting lugs on the back. I used them to attach trail cameras to a piece of electrical conduit that I drove into the ground. I used plastic zip lock bags as rain shields since other reviews indicated that some of the components are susceptible to rust. ... show more

  • They ok
You could find better quality ones but these did just fine for what I needed them for and are sturdy enough

  • Needed to mount some lighting equipment and a second camera, very flexible.
The clamps give a very positive feel. And fit very comfortably around several sections of the tripod stand that I'm using. I'm using some fill light and a second camera angle with a lightweight Camera. These clamped on and let me set the exact angle that I needed. Tighten down held their position. I can see getting several more of these, just to have them handy. ... show more

  • I love these clamps
Ok, let me be a little thorough since as of this writing you have 2 options when buying these awesome little clamps. You got these and the ones from smallrig. I already have some from smallrig, and this is the first time for me to buy these. Both an incredible value and such an awesome way for me to attach stuff to my tripods. But I thought that I was just getting an identical product without the smallrig name and they are actually quite different. First, I will start with the good, the balls inside the arm on these have a ring of texture around them making it super easy to tighten it down and not have to worry about it moving. The smallrig's are smooth and require more effort to tighten down and will probably keep getting harder to tighten as they age. At first glance I though these would be way better, but when I actually attached them to a tripod there is a bit of wiggle in the clamp. These use a soft rubber like pad that look to be poorly attached to the clamp and since they are soft it's impossible to clamp it down hard enough that they won't move. Where the smallrig uses a hard molded piece of plastic which locks down tight with very little effort. I'm thrilled that I can take the arm from one of these and attach it to the clamp from a smallrig and have a super study attachment for my yolobox which is a heavy livestreaming toughscreen and have it really secure. I'll use the other parts to clamp something I wont be touching all the time. With all that being said, I'm happy I bought these, but if you are just looking for one, get the smallrig, you can clamp down it's arm tight enough to make it sturdy. I don't think I can make this clamp as sturdy as I want it. ... show more

  • Claims to use Stainless Steel, if so it is a special kind that Rusts
I like the design since I can use it to mount a Wyze Outdoor camera to a chain-link fence. After a couple of months outside, I found significant rust on the clamp's "stainless" steel parts. I also found that these parts will also strongly attract a magnet which rather suggests that ordinary steel is being used instead of stainless. For indoor used away from moisture, this clamp would be fine, outdoors not so much. ... show more

  • Some Good, but overall BAD!
OK, first the "good"... the sockets/swivels/threaded mounts are what I would call "good" BUT..... they could be MUCH better with just a bit of attention to detail, in both design and production....One problem is the loose tolerances on both the threads that tighten the clamp, and the threaded mounting holes in the clamp for attaching either 3/8"-16 threads, or 1/4"-20 threads....the threads are just too "sloppy". The main problem with the "upper"/adjustable mount portions, is that one thumb screw tightens/loosens BOTH upper and lower, so it can be a pain to try to get both adjusted in the correct positions, and then locked down....you almost need 3 hands to do it. Now, THE BAD..... the clamps on these things are a perfect example of trying to make something that will clamp to everything, and it DOES NOT CLAMP TO ANYTHING WELL! Because of the "pointed" jaws, there is not enough surface area in contact to clamp securely to anything flat, such as the edge of a table or a vertical "edge"! With just the weight of a GoPro on it, the jaws slip/slide when tightened, and if you do put enough pressure to hold them in place, say on something like a wooden table top or perhaps a shelf edge....the jaw leave indents! I found that out, the hard way. My Mrs. was pretty ticked off when she noticed "dents" along the edge of our kitchen table! When it comes to holding on anything round, about the size the clamps will hold to, securely, is a ROUGH finished, 1" diameter round....anything bigger or smaller, and the clamps either slips, or the "rubber" on the jaws slips/peels from the clamp. I took them apart, and will use the clamps for that purpose, for things around the shop. The double swivel portions, I used to build long flexible arms for my GoPro cameras. ... show more

  • They work great for medium weight needs
I used two sets of these clamps to secure four Valve Index Lighthouse positioning emitters in my basemet, clamped to the underside of the floor joists. I have also used the clamps for holding my heavier cameras on tubular backdrop frames and stands. No problems as kong as you use the clamps for what they are designed for. ... show more
