First off, my 5-y.o. grandson loves cars! His parents mentioned that him and one of his friends had a good time playing with Hot Wheels stuff at his friends house so my wife was looking at buying him some Hot Wheels cars. She saw a Hot Wheels track setup and asked me about it and I told her that it was cool. Then I mentioned that when I was a kid I used to have a slot car track. She didn’t know what it was so she searched for it and found this one to show me. After reading about it, it was an easy decision! The track pieces are a little difficult to put together but take your time and wiggle them into place. Being a veteran slot car owner I designed and built my own track instead of following the one pictured in the instructions. The track is so flimsy and the cars electrical contacts are frayed pieces of metallic fabric that cross connect and short out causing constant stops and crashes. Not in a fun way. We ordered this for our sons birthday. actually this was a replacement for a similar item. It was much more better than the previous one we have ordered however, one of the tracks was missing the aluminum contact points. Which kind of made the cars run off the tracks at high speed. The media could not be loaded. This is a great race track set i got for my kiddo. I tried a super mario one prior to this that failed miserably. This one has great ease of assembly, there were no missing pieces, and instructions were very clear and ease to follow. The functionality was spot on compared to the others i tried. I bought this for my nephew because he has a love of cars and I have fond memories of playing with one of these when I was a kid. Safe to say, it was his favorite present and we played with it together for hours! Creating different tracks and spending quality time was the greatest gift.

    • Great but cheaply made
Got for my younger kids. The stands you have to use for the course suck and after few laps will tip to the point track falls on itself. Took maybe an hour to get it all together. After 10 minutes Took apart and made an oval for my younger kids. They had a blast but it is very cheaply made. Good if you plan to use once or twice but anymore the metal pulls up stopping the current which obviously cars won’t work anymore ... show more
